Fair odds in the melee
- Friends standing around a foe no longer pile their whole strength onto every blow. The two strongest friends touching the enemy add their strength, and a unit that has already struck this phase does not join another attack.
- The odds shown before a melee are now exactly the odds the battle uses.
Battles
- Holding out to the last turn of a survive battle now wins it, however the victory points stand.
- Every battle ends with an In Memoriam card for those who fell that day.
- Villagers caught by the fighting make their own choice: most run, some take up arms, a few turn coat.
- Victory and defeat lines name your own banner.
Eaters of the Dead: the Fire Vorm
- The Wendol can now win the night: hold Arnholm's hall for two full turns, or bring down Buliwyf. The Thirteen still win by holding out to dawn.
- The Torch-Riders hit like the Wendol they are, but ride light and fast: they burn and run, and die when they are caught.
Smoother
- Large battles run more smoothly: pictures load a little at a time, the fog of war does far less work, and trees off the screen stop swaying.
- A two-line title on a story parchment keeps its rule underneath, not through its words.
