Patch Notes Preview - Duelyst: Legends v3.2.0

Duelyst: Legends · published

This patch contains the much-requested improvement to AI difficulty, as well as several other bugfixes. These changes have undergone extensive automated testing, but they will likely need further adjustment before release. For this reason, this build is now available in the "prerelease" branch for you to test. To try it out, right-click Duelyst: Legends in Steam, click Properties, click Game Versions & Betas, and then activate the "prerelease" branch. Best of luck against the upgraded opponents!

Features

  • Introduces a new evolution of the opponent AI which has better "thinking" ability. This improved AI has three times the time limit for its decision making, which might make AI marginally slower but also results in much better decision-making. The new "thinking" improvements include better movement, not missing lethal opportunities, better targeting of spells and effects, and better prediction of how the player might respond to their actions.

  • Gives AI opponents much stronger decks, which scale up in power as you increase your faction win count. As you increase your win count, AI opponents will have decks with higher total Spirit value and more powerful cards.

Improvements

  • Increased the gold reward for Solo Challenges from 10 to 25.

  • The client log (duelyst-electron.log) now clears each time you start the game. This means the log only contains information for your most recent game launch, but it prevents unbounded growth and oversized log files.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixes a large number of hangs/bugs with the enemy AI.

  • Fixes a bug which could cause hangs in boss battles. Boss battles now always use the "Classic" AI from the original game to ensure the intended experience.

  • Fixes a bug which caused user settings (such as audio volume) not to persist across restarts.

  • Fixes a bug which could cause a hang when enemy generals were defeated in Campaign finale battles.

  • Fixes a bug which caused campaign rewards to not grant duplicates (for disenchanting) of cards you already owned.

  • Fixes a bug which caused disenchanted prismatic cards not to award the correct amount of Spirit.

  • Fixes a bug which caused some campaign battles to use incorrect difficulty settings.

  • Fixes a hang which could occur when a campaign battle ended in a draw.

  • Fixes an error caused by repeated destruction of tooltip windows.

  • Fixes an error caused by GPU buffer resizing in the particle system.
