You Have Been Slain: An Idle Tragedy Playtest · published · build 26369472
• Enemies now make a soft whoosh as they move into place on the battlefield, with a heavier one for large enemies.
• Dying in a dungeon you are bound in now runs you back to the floor you fell on. While Auto Run-Back counts down you no longer start fighting on the bind floor, and arriving back follows your Auto-Pull on Arrival setting.
• Siphoning gear and spells now earns three times as much upgrade experience per kill.
• Chonks drop more often from the enemies you fight most: 1% from blue enemies, 2% from white, 3% from yellow and 5% from red, and named enemies drop them twice as often.
• Instant clickies, including potions and items whose effect fires at once, can now be used while you are casting another spell. The spell keeps casting.
• Gear you wear with a click effect that buffs you now casts that buff on you by itself whenever it is missing and the item is ready. It never replaces a stronger buff of the same kind. To turn this off for an item, right-click it and untick Auto-cast while worn. You can still click the item yourself.
• The Spirit Wolf's Spirit Howl has new effects: a cold breath from the wolf's muzzle and a spirit wind that runs along the bottom of your screen, while a cold mist rolls out to slow its target. The old ring-and-bar marker no longer appears on whatever it slows, your pet included.
• New Berserker ability at level 20: Ricochet Axe. Hurl a spinning hand axe that ricochets through up to 4 enemies, each hit dealing 80% of the one before.
• New Assassin ability at level 20: Widow's Bane. Throw a vial of everything on your blade over the pack: every poison coating you wear takes effect on up to 5 enemies at once. Needs a poison coating on.
• Clerics learn the Mark, a new debuff line from level 7: while it holds, every hit on the marked enemy heals whoever landed it.
• Clerics gain four new class AAs: Sanctuary of Light makes you untouchable for 10 seconds while you heal, Atoning Ward turns Mark healing past full health into a ward, Rising Light can make your next heal instant and free, and Radiant Faith strengthens every direct heal.
• Enchanters gain six new class AAs: Wellspring of Thought shares a pool of your mana with your group, Unravel Will makes your slows lower resists, Mind Before Body pays damage with mana, Phantasmal Decoys take the next attacks for you, Shattering Rune stuns whoever breaks your Rune, and Lingering Trance makes your mesmerizes last longer.
• Monks gain two new class AAs: Iron Stance cuts the damage you take by 30% for 10 seconds, and Wasp's Sting makes your target take more physical damage for 15 seconds.
• Berserkers gain three new class AAs: Butcher's Frenzy makes Frenzy ready twice as often against enemies near death, Red Rage turns your melee critical hits into a short damage boost, and Wild Grip makes your off-hand two-hander swing more often.
• Assassins gain three new class AAs: Ambush makes your first Backstab on each enemy hit much harder, Final Cut adds damage to Backstab against enemies below 25% health, and Flurry of Knives backstabs up to five engaged enemies at once.
• Rangers gain three new class AAs: Final Arrow makes Power Shot hit harder below 20% health and resets it once per enemy, Drawn Breath empowers your next two bow attacks after Power Shot, and Hushing Shot locks the spell Disrupting Shot interrupts for 6 seconds.
• Sorcerers gain three new class AAs: Glacial Reset makes your ice spells ready again at once, Arcane Alacrity makes your next two damage spells instant, and Glacial Stasis encases you in ice for 6 seconds so nothing can harm you.
• Bards gain three new class AAs: Accelerando makes your group's ability cooldowns run faster for 15 seconds, Stunning Bellow is a shout that damages your target and stuns it for 2 seconds, and Dissonant Refrain makes your target take more damage from every source for 15 seconds.
• Shamans gain three new class AAs: Spreading Torpor spreads your slows to other engaged enemies, Spirit Lash interrupts an enemy's spell and locks it for 6 seconds, and Spirit Mastery makes your heals over time stronger.
• Druids gain four new class AAs: Thornward wards the most injured ally so their next hit heals them over time, Wild Swiftness makes your next spell instant and free, Wildfire sets your fire DoT burning when your fire nuke crits, and Verdant Bounty makes your heals over time stronger.
• Quick Evacuation now needs level 28, the level Druids learn Succor.
• Beastmasters gain three new class AAs: Command Strike makes your companion strike at once, Pack Communion shortens Paragon's reuse, and Last Instinct heals your companion over time when it falls below 30% health.
• Necromancers gain five new class AAs: Contagion spreads your DoTs when an enemy dies, Mounting Agony makes each DoT tick hit harder than the last, Undying Servant saves your companion from a killing blow once every 3 minutes, Soul Feast can ready Consume Soul again when its target dies, and Reaped Essence returns mana when an enemy dies with your DoT on it.
• Conjurers gain a new class AA: Searing Bond makes your companion burst into flame when it is destroyed, burning every engaged enemy for a share of its maximum health.
• Dreadknights gain three new class AAs: Blood Reckoning makes your lifetaps also heal part of the damage you took in the last 5 seconds, Dread Presence is a switch that raises your threat, and Hate's Bellow takes the attention of every engaged enemy.
• Paladins gain three new class AAs: Beacon of Valor marks a group member, or your companion when you are alone, and part of every heal you cast on yourself also heals them; Bulwark of Faith is a switch that raises your threat; and Tempered Chastise makes Chastise cost less mana.
• Warlords gain three new class AAs: Mirror Shield turns the next spell cast at you back on its caster while you hold a shield, Commanding Presence is a switch that raises your threat, and Staggering Slam makes Slam stun.
• Critical Guard is much stronger: your critical hits now turn 10/20/30% of their damage into a shield, up to 4% of your maximum health per hit and 8/12/15% in all.
• The Shaman's Cannibalize spells now trade a share of your maximum health (4%, 6%, then 8%) for more mana than they cost (up to 1.5 mana per health at the top rank), so they keep up with your gear. Autocast won't cannibalize below half health, and every cast takes 5 seconds off Cannibalization's reuse.
• Twelve AAs that did too little now matter. Casting Resilience also shortens stuns on you, Spell Casting Expertise makes your spells resisted less often, Spell Casting Deftness also speeds crowd-control spells, Critical Mend shortens Mend's reuse, and Accelerated Decay now adds damage over time instead of finishing it early.
• Lifeburn, Savage Fury, Fierce Eye, Elemental Resonance, Instrument Mastery, Double Riposte and Heart of the Wild have larger effects, and Savage Fury and Fierce Eye last longer.
• AA prices were reviewed: 62 general, archetype and class AAs now cost less to match what they do, and the points you already spent on them come back to spend again. Divine Ward and Companion Damage cost a little more; if you can't cover the difference, they are refunded instead.
• Shieldcraft now adds up to 10% block, Holy Reckoning hits for up to 30 times your Paladin level, and Righteous Zeal's holy strikes and heals are twice as strong. Casting Resilience's top rank now matches Channeling Focus at 15%.
• Physical Enhancement and Body and Mind Rejuvenation now sit in the AA window's Archetype tab.
• New Berserker AA at level 30: Rebounding Axe. Ricochet Axe bounces to up to 3 more enemies and loses less on each bounce.
• New Assassin AA at level 30: Spreading Bane. When an enemy carrying your Widow's Bane poisons dies, they jump to another enemy, and Widow's Bane comes back sooner.
• Weapon procs fire about four times as often, and every proc weapon you wear now gets its own chance on every hit: main hand, off-hand, ranged slot and ANY slots alike. Melee specials such as Frenzy, Kick and Backstab can now trigger procs too.
• Assassin poisons fire half again as often, on top of now triggering from melee specials.
• Tooltips no longer show how often a proc fires.
• The Berserker's Rampage no longer costs you health on each hit. It still doubles your attack speed and hits harder the more health you're missing.
• Specialization now works. Every spell of a magic school you cast trains it, and it lowers what those spells cost, by up to 10% less mana at full skill.
• Entering the world now shows a loading bar that names each step, so the first load after starting the game no longer looks frozen. The first load is also faster: the interface loads in the background before the world is built.
• The While You Were Gone summary now always fits on screen: a long report scrolls, the buttons stay in view, and Escape or Enter closes it.
• The character panel's experience and AA bars now show your rested bonus, the same way the Player Status bars do.
• New sound effects across the game: every weapon and spell hit, death, heal, cast, loot pickup, click and window sound has been remade, and hits now pick from up to four variations so repeated blows sound less alike. The bag sounds are unchanged.
• New sounds for Mirror Shield and its reflect, Staggering Slam, Command Strike, Ricochet Axe, Ambush, Final Cut and each knife of Flurry of Knives, Widow's Bane, Glacial Reset, Glacial Stasis and its thaw, Stunning Bellow, Spirit Lash, Undying Servant, Searing Bond, and Phantasmal Decoys and its breaking masks.
• Chastise, Ward Undead, Divine Ward, Rend, Summon Animation, Crippling Magic, the Shaman poison bites, the Dreadknight shadow DoTs and Whirlwind have new icons, so they no longer look like another ability you might have on your bars. Pet abilities such as Spirit Howl, Pack Bond and Undertow now show their own icons on effect tiles.
• The server select screen now opens on the server you last played.
• Buying an AA, levelling up or ranking a spell no longer replays the effect of every always-on buff you have switched on.
• Rikket's wagon now shows above town and dungeon icons on the map, so you can click it when he passes one. Hovering the wagon or his name lights it up like a place, with a hand pointer, and the whole banner can be clicked.
• Rikket waits for you on the map while you are with him.
• The Bounty Board's reroll now replaces every posting you haven't taken at once, for the price of one reroll, instead of one posting at a time.
• Hovering a window that sits over the map, such as your Character window, no longer also shows the hover card of a map place underneath it.
• A Monk who has learned Eagle Strike no longer sees Tiger Claw, which Eagle Strike replaces, listed as a locked skill in the Abilities window.
• The Abilities window now lists Hand to Hand, Channeling, Abjuration, Conjuration and Divination among your passive skills. They have always trained as you fight and cast, but were left off that list.
• The Ascendant Abilities window is redesigned. Abilities are grouped by your three classes on the Class tab (and by class family and tradeskill on the other tabs) and sorted by name, with a search box and filters for what you can train now, have trained, have maxed or is still locked. Each row shows its icon or a rank ring, its ranks, and a cost that says why you cannot buy it yet. The details list every rank with its price, what you still need with your own level and ranks, which abilities unlock which, and an activated ability's reuse and cast time, and a second button trains every rank you can afford. The header shows where your points went.
