As the software has evolved, it’s grown beyond just a soundboard for voice clips and sound effects. To better reflect what it does today and where I want to take it in the future, I’ve officially renamed it 开麦COMMS.
This update is about more than just a new name. It also brings a completely refreshed interface and new features to improve your experience.
The entire interface has been redesigned with a cleaner, more consistent visual style. Features are now organized into clearer sections, with improved interactions and a more intuitive layout, making everything easier to find and use.
Using a virtual audio device, Kaikai COMMS can route audio directly into your game or voice chat app, so your teammates can hear the sounds you play.
Kaikai COMMS comes with official DLC sound packs, and I’ll keep adding more, including some exciting collaborations. Iconic movie quotes? Celebrities? Internet personalities? Stay tuned—you never know what’s coming next!
You can also import your own audio files and create custom sound packs. Whether you’re memeing, entertaining your squad, or throwing in a little well-timed banter, make it your own!
Kaikai COMMS gives you two ways to trigger sounds on the fly, so you can play audio right in the middle of a game without constantly switching back to the app.
Global Hotkeys: Assign a global hotkey to any sound and trigger it with a keypress, even while you’re in-game.
Soundboard Wheel: Bring up the floating soundboard wheel with a single action, then click a sound to play it—all without switching back to the main app window.

Built for cross-language gaming, Kaikai COMMS helps you communicate without the language barrier getting in the way.
You speak Chinese, your teammates hear English. They speak another language, and you get Chinese subtitles.
Chinese → English: Speak naturally in Chinese, and Kaikai COMMS converts your speech into English audio so your international teammates can understand you.
English → Chinese: Turn your teammates’ English speech into Chinese subtitles, making it easier to follow the conversation.
Switch directions with a single click: Choose the translation direction that fits your needs.
Runs entirely on your device: Speech recognition, translation, and speech synthesis are all processed locally, without relying on cloud services.
Kaikai COMMS now supports Steam Cloud synchronization for supported settings and user data.
Your hotkeys, pinned sounds, subtitle window position, translation direction, and custom sound packs can sync across devices when included in your cloud sync settings.
