New Threats

Count Your Crew
Something has started walking among you. It wears the same suit you do. It knows how your friends sound. And it is very, very patient.
If a teammate is standing a little too still, maybe don't turn your back on them.
And whatever you do, don't make it angry.Beyond the Edge
The safe zone has a border for a reason. Something old sleeps under the fields outside it, and lately it has been waking up for anyone who wanders too far.
If it takes hold of you, pray your team brought enough ammo.Hungry Ground
Leave a body outside the safe zone and don't be surprised if it isn't where you left it. Something out there is hungry, and it doesn't like to eat where it finds its food. The Gramophone House
There is a house where a gramophone plays. As long as the music plays, you are welcome inside.
Don't be there when it stops. They Come at Night
Something new comes out after dark. It's small. It's quick. It's never alone.
Once it's on you, you'll need a friend to get it off. And no two nights will play out the same way again. The Thief Got Smarter
The Thief has learned some new tricks. Walls won't stop it anymore. Neither will you.

Live Bait & Predators

Your grappling hook can now carry something that's still breathing. Cows, sheep and a few smaller surprises make excellent bait.
The wilderness has noticed. Seven new predators now roam out there. Some have fur, some have scales, all of them have teeth, and each one hunts in its own way. We'll let you find out which is which.A Delivery from the Road
Rumor has it a certain rare ore can call something in from the road. It doesn't stay long, it sells things that are still alive, and it doesn't care who's standing in the back when it leaves.Luck Objects
Not everything that answers the bait is a zombie anymore. Some of what crawls out of the dark is... strange. A mirror. A wheelchair. A scarecrow. A football.
Don't laugh, and don't let your guard down. Think twice before shooting at the mirror.
Beat them, and some of them are worth more than you'd expect. Some can even be taken for a ride.

Gunplay & Feel

  • Weapon audio overhaul: Every gun now has layered sound (a close blast, a distant crack and an echoing tail), mixed separately for each player depending on distance. Teammates hear your shots clearly up close, as distant gunfire from across the map, and muffled when you're underground. Full-auto weapons now loop properly and ring out when you release the trigger.

  • Surface impacts: Bullet hits now react to what they strike (mud, wet ground, walls or wood), and spent shell casings eject from your weapon with every shot.

  • Upgraded bullets look upgraded: As you raise your weapon's damage, tracers shift from yellow to orange to red.

  • Mines hit harder: Zombies caught in a blast are blown apart, limbs flying, but there's always enough left to sell. Placing a mine now shows its damage and lethal range on the ground.

Player Stats & Scoreboard

Find out who really carried the team. The end-of-round scoreboard now tracks kills (the kill goes to whoever dealt the most damage, with assists for the rest), ore mined, successful lures and more, and stamps titles on standout players. A new PLAYERS tab on the Skill Monitor shows everyone's stats along with their lifetime career records.

Gear & Quality of Life

  • Shoulder lamp: Your flashlight now sits on your left shoulder and follows where you look, so your hands stay free for everything else. It switches off automatically while you hold a gun that has its own flashlight.

  • Two-handed tablet: TAB now raises the tablet with both hands, puts away whatever you were holding and gives it back when you're done.

  • Guide robot assistant: Short, quiet notes from the guide robot: item info (press I any time), a warning before the night siren, elevator power warnings... and a few lines you'd rather not read in the dark. It never spams, and tips can be turned off in Options.

  • Clearer luring: While luring, the range ring on your HUD turns green when a zombie is following, orange when it's about to lose interest, and red when it's gone.

  • Translations: Weapon descriptions are now translated into all supported languages.

Levels & Balance

  • Rebuilt laboratory generation: Rooms no longer overlap or leave gaps into the void, and generating a level causes far fewer freezes.

  • Fewer locked doors deeper down: From level 4 onward, locked doors are less common.

  • RadCore pricing by day: The grinder is generous early on and gets stingier as the days go by, from one RadCore per $20 on day 1 up to $50 by day 9.

Notable Fixes

  • Revived players no longer lose their skills.

  • Spectators can now hear gunfire from the player they're watching.

  • Phone revive works again.

  • The Backrooms monster no longer clips through walls and corners.

  • The boss's spit attack no longer passes through walls.

  • Items placed on shelves can be picked back up.

  • Voice chat no longer builds up delay during long sessions.

  • Fewer stutters overall: large audio files now stream and navigation is prepared in the background.
