Hi everyone, I've been working on making Hexborne quicker to get into, more satisfying to play, and more expressive in combat. This demo update brings a new beastfolk protagonist, a faster battle flow, and a wider range of enemy attacks. The goal is simple: approachable controls, satisfying skill chains, and decisions that still matter every turn.
A new face for Hexborne Meet the new lion beastfolk hero, with updated character art and combat animations. A different look, with the same determination to carve a path through a broken world. Quicker battles. Longer chains. Combat has a faster rhythm, with quicker attack animations and clearer feedback as your skills connect. Defeating an enemy along your route can earn a follow-up action while the wave continues, giving you another chance to keep the chain going. Build up the Hexborne gauge to gain an extra action and extend your next route. A well-planned turn can become a much bigger opportunity.
Enemies have more ways to fight back Expect a wider range of attacks, including charging enemies, ranged fire attacks, and heavy boss strikes. Elites and bosses can punish a careless approach, so where you end your route matters just as much as what you collect along the way. The heart of Hexborne: draw your path Hexborne is a turn-based roguelite built around drawing routes across a hex grid. Connect tiles to attack, defend, recover health, and collect gold, then bring your skills together in a chain. Each route is a small tactical puzzle: push for damage, recover, or prepare for the counterattack? Build your run. Strengthen the next one.
The demo also lets you shape your journey beyond combat: - Choose your next destination on the stage map.
- Enhance equipment at the blacksmith and add enchantments through alchemy.
- Spend souls at the Altar of Souls to unlock permanent upgrades through its skill tree. Try the updated demo Whether you're returning or trying Hexborne for the first time, I'd love to hear how the new combat flow feels. Which skill chain worked best for you? Which enemy gave you the most trouble? I'm developing Hexborne solo, and your feedback helps me decide what to improve next. Thank you for playing.
