This one is about the bank. A loan used to be a single number, and rebuilding it turned up a few things that had been wrong for a while.

The bank

  • You make a request, five lenders answer: with an offer, with less money, or with a refusal and a reason. One request per week. You pick the amount, the term and the right to make overpayments, and whatever you ask for costs interest.

  • The base rate moves every week by 0.10 to 0.15 points, ranging between 1.6% and 3.15% over three seasons. An offer stands for exactly one week: until you may ask again.

  • The lenders come out of your world. Each of the 53 nations now has at least four banks. If one of them is on your boards, every offer gets 20% cheaper, and at that lender another 0.5 points come off: 4.02% becomes 2.72%.

Sponsors

  • A construction firm on your boards only ever made infrastructure cheaper, and even that only when the money was taken. The Youth Academy and the stadium, the most expensive build in the game, never knew about the discount. Now all three do.

  • Four numbers on the finance screen disagreed with the account statement next to them: coach and coordinator wages too high, TV money too low, build prices too high. And every line a sponsor moves now says by how much.

The cup

  • Ten clubs go through round 1 without playing, because 54 is not a power of two. Until now the draw decided that: in 98.9% of draws a tier-3 club sat it out while a top-flight club had to play. Now the ten strongest are seeded.

  • An i at the top of the round says why. In the world editor you can switch the rule and see up front how many byes your field size produces.

Squad

  • The squad limit now applies to the AI world only.

Odds and ends

  • A main sponsor from the "Other" trade promised a goal bonus and never paid a penny.
