A clearer trading desk
Tickerbound launches October 16. Ahead of release, version 0.2.0 brings clearer funding, improved collectible buying and selling, and fixes across your career. Here is what has changed as we get ready for launch.
Safe Bank and trading
- Funding now shows your available Safe Bank balance, how much will move into Trading Cash and how much will remain after confirming.
- Empty balances and protected operating reserves have clearer explanations. Starting funds and loans already in Trading Cash do not need to be allocated from Safe Bank again. The introductory tour now explains this distinction too.
- Fixed starting a run with zero allocation when Safe Bank is below its protected reserve. Transfer controls and confirmation amounts are easier to read.
- Improved transfer-dialog focus and access to its controls in smaller windows.
- Trade previews and cash-sizing buttons now use the same full-precision quote and rounded order total as execution. This fixes small preview differences and prevents purchases a few cents above available Trading Cash.
- New stock purchases retain their actual purchase cost, and partial sales keep the remaining cost accurate. Profit/loss no longer picks up stray cents from rounding the cost of each share. Existing historical results are retained.
Portfolio charts
- Explore recorded portfolio values with time ranges and mouse, touch or keyboard inspection.
- Opening observations are retained, and current values remain visible in older careers. The Home chart and Portfolio use consistent history.
- Transfers are clearly identified as changes to the account balance, not investment profit. No volume or stock-chart indicators are included.
Marketplace and collection
- Compare asking prices with dated value estimates, condition and rarity, and see buying fees before confirming a purchase.
- Find purchases in your collection with search, filters and sorting. Review what you paid, the current estimate and the recorded value history.
- Selling previews explain listing fees, selling costs and possible proceeds. Existing listings are easier to manage, with clearer purchase and sale feedback.
- Fixed cases where an unsuccessful purchase could remove a listing or report success, corrected purchase-reserve checks and prevented condition from being applied twice to the first valuation of a newly acquired item.
- Fixed invalid or stale watcher offers and unrealistic offers based on an inflated asking price. Estimates remain guides, not guaranteed sale prices; demand, costs and timing still matter.
- Raising your own maximum auction bid no longer makes you compete against your previous bid. A sufficient maximum now meets the seller's reserve correctly, and Leading/Outbid filters follow the actual leader.
- Auction bids now account for a vehicle's operating reserve before accepting the commitment, matching the purchase checks.
- Opening an item in your collection no longer shifts the entire game window.
- Fixed overlapping Buy/Create Listing controls in the Marketplace seller desk.
- Property and business management now clearly show your active choice and when you can change it again. Property confirmations show the exact fee and remaining balances, and explain unavailable changes before you confirm.
- Collection artwork uses consistent frames, keeping mixed items and their labels aligned without cropping the artwork.
Interface and desktop fixes
- Earned career milestones now get a small celebration with a shortcut to your profile. Existing achievements stay quiet when you load a career.
- Fixed keyboard focus when switching between related news reports, opening reports from company comparison and confirming a property or business management change.
- Refreshed sector badges and collection icons. Improved notification badges, watchlist scaling and alignment beside text.
- Improved item-preview, price and selling-control alignment.
- Fixed career setup carrying an old scroll position into the next step.
- Improved interface scaling for 1440p and 4K while retaining the 1080p layout.
- Added a gold and ink Tickerbound cursor, with a System cursor option in Settings.
- Company comparison opens in its own panel. Shortlisted companies no longer push other pages down or make navigation appear stuck; closing the panel keeps your session shortlist.
- Shortlist confirmation messages no longer follow you into an unrelated company or news report.
- The Portfolio ledger shows five entries per page and keeps your place when new transactions arrive.
- Company news is easier to scan, and catalog previews use consistent image areas.
- The empty collection features the signed Orren Stonequay football card. Removed the Catalog image label from artwork.
- Windowed fullscreen fills the Windows display without a window border or taskbar while the game is active.
- New desktop profiles open in windowed fullscreen. Your previously saved display choice is respected.
- Display changes now open a clear Keep/Revert confirmation before returning to Settings. Kept choices survive closing Settings and restarting; expired previews cannot falsely report that the mode was saved.
Existing careers
The career save format is unchanged. Existing stored balances and completed transactions are retained; corrected purchase and offer rules apply to new actions. Active auctions use the corrected bid calculation when loaded; completed sales are not recalculated. Charts use the history your career actually retained, so missing older observations are not reconstructed.
Keep a pre-update backup if you need to return to an older build. Careers saved in 0.2.0 should not be reopened in 0.1.0 because its older auction checks can reject the corrected prices.
