Gravebound Rising · published · build 25791463
Hey everyone,
The beginning needed some love. I want you raising your first skeleton, getting into a fight, and seeing what your army can become instead of wondering what you are supposed to do.
This update is live now. Here is what changed.
There is a new optional guided introduction on Easy and Normal. You start in your own clearing with a body nearby and enough souls to raise your first ally. From there you fight, grow your little army, gather resources, place your first settlement, and defend it.
It also walks you through your first Soul Binding, the ? Help menu, Provision Yard, where to find Autonomous Raids, and the Auto Upgrades with Souls option. There is an optional extra fight if you want to push a little further before heading out.
Finishing a tutorial objective gives you time to read before continuing. Encounters wait until you are ready to start them, too. You should not have to speed-read while your skeletons get beat up.
The normal enemy kingdoms wait until you finish or choose to leave the introduction. You keep the settlement, army, upgrades, and resources you earned. Then the normal realm begins and it is up to you where to take things.
To try it, start a new Easy or Normal realm with Guided introduction selected. Your existing run keeps its world.
Thank you to everyone playing and telling me what feels off. That feedback means a lot. I want the start to make you want to keep going and see just how far you can train this dumb skeleton army.
Once you leave the clearing, explore. There are still things to discover and ways to find your own advantage.
