New Challenge, More Music, and Commanders With a Story

This update adds a new challenge against Selene Krynn, seven unlockable songs, and more detailed commander profiles. It also improves unit models and animations, along with board controls.

🆕 New Content

  • Switchback Rise, a new Challenge Room map: face Selene Krynn on a three-tier board with a looping road and elevated positions. Control the neutral facilities and central resources to sustain your advance uphill.
  • Seven new songs in Battle Shop: Testosterone, Extreme Sports, In Hard Rock, Sport Life, Strike, This Metal and Workout. Preview them before unlocking them for 1,000 points each, then choose which songs play during battles in Settings.
  • Expanded profiles for all 17 commanders in Battle Shop, featuring their backstories, field statistics, and explanations of their bonuses, deployment, and aura mechanics.

⚖️ Balance and Campaign

  • Selene Krynn: indirect-fire units within her aura now receive a 35% damage bonus. They retain their extra tile of range and the penalty of taking 10% more damage.
  • Campaign Mission 4, Momentum: a Bastion and two Hornets have been added to the player's starting army. Enemy snipers, mortars, and Salvo units are no longer restricted to their starting positions.
  • Updated the prologue illustration.

🎨 Models and Animations

  • Updated the Engineer and Planner models, with scale adjustments and new thumbnails for every faction color.
  • Improved walking animations to keep clothing and equipment connected during movement.
  • Added infantry idle gestures and occasional turret and barrel movements, with more natural pauses.
  • Fixed the rendering of goose flocks so they fly above the elements on the board.
  • Removed bears from the decorative wildlife; deer and rabbits remain.

🎮 Controls and Interface

  • Holding the left mouse button over a tile lets you inspect its information panel. Releasing it after inspection prevents an accidental action.
  • The cursor stays on its tile while you inspect the panel, preventing unintended selection changes.
  • Clicking an empty tile or a unit that has already acted no longer opens the general match menu.
  • Added right-stick scrolling for commander profiles, including through Steam Input.
  • Improved keyboard navigation in Battle Shop and localized price formatting.
