Subjects,
The Ritual is evolving. Something ancient has clawed its way out of the past - and the Game Master is only too pleased to let it loose.
Season 4: Evolution charges in today with a prehistoric new Season Pass, alongside an expanded Game Master presence, revamped lighting across every map, clearer Role ability effects, our upgrade to Unreal Engine 5.8, the Ranked Season 4 reset, new Store cosmetics and an experimental Bots option in Custom Games.
You’ll find full details on these updates below.
EVOLUTION brings a prehistoric collection to unlock as you progress, including character cosmetics, Terror skins, equipment skins, emotes, loading screens and profile customisation items inspired by the prehistoric past.
Headline rewards include the Clever Girl, Flying Lizard, King of Rex and First Prey premium set — King of Rex (Jak) and First Prey (Beck) outfits, Flying Lizard and Clever Girl Terror skins, plus matching Rex Feller, Snap Sniper and Sleepy Time legendary skins alongside the Raptor Tamer (Jak) and Paleontologist (Beck) looks, the T-Rex (Hans) outfit, legendary Terror skins like the Lupiratop and Pteridactyl, and a barrel of emotes and emblems including Big Jaws and Dino Walk.
Unlock the Standard Pass for 900 Shillings, or upgrade to the Deluxe Pass for 2,100 Shillings to instantly unlock additional rewards and accelerate your progression through the tiers.
The Game Master has always controlled the Ritual. Now, he’s stepping out of the shadows.
We’ve expanded how he interacts throughout a match, bringing more of his personality to key moments and making every Ritual feel unmistakably like his twisted game.
With newly recorded in-game voice lines, he’ll be reacting to the unfolding chaos and reminding every Subject exactly who is in control.
Every Ritual Site has received a major lighting pass.
The refreshed lighting brings a stronger atmosphere, richer environments and clearer visual definition across each map. Locations should feel darker, deeper and more cinematic, while retaining the visibility needed to navigate objectives and identify danger.
Familiar corridors may not feel quite so familiar when something is hunting through the shadows.
We’ve introduced new visual effects and clearer feedback for Role abilities.
These changes make important Role interactions easier to understand in the middle of a match, providing better feedback when abilities are activated and their effects take hold.
The mystery at the heart of Deceit 2 remains intact, but the information you’re meant to receive should now be clearer and easier to act upon.
Deceit 2 has been upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.8.
Alongside modernising the game’s technical foundation, we’ve carried out general optimisation and stability work across Deceit 2, helping deliver a smoother and more reliable experience across supported platforms.
The upgrade also gives us a stronger base for further performance, visual and gameplay improvements in future updates.
With the start of the new season, Ranked has been reset.
Congratulations to everyone who competed in Ranked Season 3 and especially those who fought their way into Masters and the Top 25.
Players who participated in the previous season will receive their seasonal rewards upon logging in:
Rank Emblems for every tier reached - Wood through Master.
Masters: The Rusty Cage legendary Handcuffs skin.
Top 25 Masters: The Money Man legendary Hans outfit.
There are no changes to Ranked rules or points this season.
Custom Game hosts can now enable an early version of Bots through the Custom Game options.
Bots can be used to fill empty lobby spaces, giving players an opportunity to try the system while we continue to develop and improve it.
This is an experimental option rather than a full Bots release. Bots will not yet appear in public matchmaking, and their behaviour and availability may change as development continues.
Update 2026.4.0 brings targeted adjustments to several Terrors and Roles. The Werewolf’s tracking now rewards successfully catching a Subject’s scent, while changes to the Cowboy, Voidstalker, Purifier aim to strengthen their individual playstyles.

A few standout additions are hitting the Store alongside the season.
The Arcane-tier Prismatica collection returns with a new Prismatic outfit for Chang, available for 42 Gems, and a new Prismatic Heat Goggles skin for 21 Gems.
The Arcane Cowboy and Bear Trap skins are also added to the store, available for 14 Gems and 7 Gems respectively.
We’ve reworked the first-person camera to make movement feel smoother and more natural across the board.
Jumping and landing have been refined, camera interpolation has been improved, and head bob has been adjusted to reduce unnecessary movement while preserving the sense of motion.
We've also improved execution cinematics, transitioning to a third person view which we will continue to refine.
These changes should make navigating the Ritual feel more responsive, comfortable, and consistent during both exploration and high-intensity moments.

Players can now move shortly after being revived, with the get-up animation blending out smoothly once movement begins.
Camera bob whilst sprinting has been reduced.
Smoothed camera movement and the transition into Terror form.
