Update Notes | Clearer Guidance and Refreshed Interfaces

Shrine Train · published · build 25707236

This update improves the experience for new players, clarifies parts of the main story, and refreshes the workbench and difficulty screens.
- Clearer story and intel
We’ve revised selected main-story events, character dialogue, and ending descriptions to better explain why things happen and what follows. Returning events now provide more context, while intel offers guidance that reflects your progress—including what to investigate and which supplies to prepare.
- A gentler start for new players
The new beginner mode provides extra food, fuel, and spare parts at departure, giving you more breathing room while you learn to manage life aboard the train.
- A refreshed workbench
New scene artwork and recipe cards make the workbench easier to browse. Crafting costs, expected output, and reasons a recipe is unavailable are now clearer.
- Optional workbench reminders
After three consecutive nights without crafting, you’ll receive a reminder to check the workbench. You can open it, continue your journey, or turn reminders off for the current run. Disabling reminders does not affect objective rewards.
- Journey difficulty is now in the menu
Open Menu → Journey Difficulty during a run to view your difficulty, run objectives, and reminder settings. On hard difficulty, you can lower the difficulty to standard. The change takes effect the following day and cannot be reversed during that run. The screen also explains whether a change is currently available.
Existing saves remain supported. Thank you for helping us find the confusing passages and hard-to-find controls. Safe travels, conductors.
