0.4.0 adds text chat to temporary rooms.
- Chat in the main area or in a closable sidebar while watching. Voice and video keep running.
- Keep your personal history. Reconnect loads the latest 50 messages; scroll up for 50 more. New members start at their first join. Returning to the same room can fill gaps, using history available from the current host.
- Reply to messages, and edit or retract your own while still in the original room, with no time limit. History becomes read-only after leaving.
- When Steam Cloud is enabled, personal history can sync between devices for the same account and edition. Local records remain if cloud sync is unavailable. Cross-device delivery is still being tested.
- Unread indicators and optional sounds notify you when chat is hidden or the app is in the background. The compact input grows with your text: Enter sends; Shift+Enter adds a line.
- Chat settings spacing and the member icon have been refined. Video enhancement remains experimental; flicker, frame generation and long-session stability remain under investigation.
