  • We are all familiar with the three states of matter in our world: liquid, solid, and gaseous. We’ve known about them for centuries. But 200 years ago an English scientist Michael Faraday proposed a theory that matter might have one more state - the fourth one. And in the 1870s his idea was put to the test by his fellow Englishman, a chemist and meteorologist William Crookes. He conducted plenty of experiments and in 1879 managed to prove Faraday right and discover the fourth state of matter, which he called “radiant matter”. Half a century later the radiant matter drew the attention of Irving Langmuir, a chemist that received a Nobel prize in 1932. In 1928 he presented his research, which called the fourth matter by the name commonly known in our times — “plasma”.Nowadays we’ve discovered a lot of plasma types. It can be created artificially and used in neon lights, computer and TV screens, or a nuclear explosion. It can form naturally and appear in lightning or northern lights. And it is commonly found in space: thermonuclear fusion in stars, our sun not being an exception, nebulae, and the dark space between the galaxies, stars, and planets in general. We use plasma in plenty of areas, but haven’t been able to incorporate it into weapons. Yet. Progress is all around us; and we might easily see such weapons in our lifetimes. But for now, thanks to videogames, we can experience plasma guns digitally. And, our brave knights of the future, we are happy to share with you a new weapon for Kara — a pulse rifle called Ingrid! The new module takes the place of the main weapon and can be activated by pressing LMB. This rifle is accompanied by new game mechanics — one weapon can have two firing modes. To shoot a single impulse beam — press LMB once. The number of shots depends only on the size of your marazine. To turn on the second mode — press and hold LMB. That way all the rounds are pressed into a single charged shot, a plasma ball that deals area-of-effect damage on impact. You can use any number of rounds to create this charge, from 2 to the whole magazine. The more rounds you gather (the longer you hold LMB), the bigger the damage.
