This update brings Patrol to ten more languages, reworks how compounds call for help, and fixes a long list of things you reported. Thank you for playing and for the feedback.
Now in 11 languages
- French, German, Spanish (Latin America), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Polish, Turkish, Norwegian, Japanese and Simplified Chinese.
- The game starts in your Steam language. Change it any time in Settings > Gameplay > Language.
- Text that runs long in another language now shrinks to fit instead of spilling over.
New
- One-click captures: right-click an HVT who hasn't given up yet, and the squad you sent ties him up the moment he surrenders. No second click.
- Mortar teams work their tube: a gunner on the sight, a loader hanging each round, ammo bearers behind them.
- Air-dropped vehicles come down netted onto a pallet, and heavy vehicles (Bradley, Stryker, Radar Track) ride under three parachutes.
- A new map shape: cliffs with passes, and plateaus with a town or compound on top. Roads only cross at the passes.
- The minimap is now a real overhead photo of the map.
- Tutorial: a new step for queuing orders with Shift + right-click.
Balance
- Compound reinforcements: a bug let a raided compound call ten waves at once, so a few minutes in you could face 300 men. Now one wave arrives about every two minutes. Get in, get the target, get out.
- Starting cash depends on difficulty: $3,500 Easy, $2,000 Medium, $1,750 Hard, $1,500 Extreme.
- Mission pay is 20% lower on Easy and Medium and 30% lower on Hard and Extreme.
- Capturing the oil field now pays $800 (was $300).
- Guns no longer waste fire on targets they can't hurt (rifles at tanks), and enemy riflemen shoot your men before your light armor.
- Loitering munitions pick a new target, or pull out and keep hunting, if their target is killed mid-dive.
Fixes
- Right-clicking a wounded soldier next to a building now carries him out instead of sending the squad into the building.
- A soldier wounded while fast-roping lands outside the building where he can be carried, not stuck inside it.
- Soldiers no longer hop back and forth over a compound wall.
- Squads no longer walk into a house on their own because of an old breach order you had already changed.
- Your soldiers always wear their helmets.
- Menus and the mission board fit on smaller screens (1280x720 and 1366x768). The deck screen and the operation setup no longer cut off at the bottom.
- Squads boarding a vehicle wait for men carrying the wounded.
- FPV drones only trail smoke while they are falling.
- Shorter mission briefs; "TAKES OUT" now reads "ON SUCCESS".
- Co-op and replays: side-job props now show for both players, and turrets turn smoothly.
