This update brings together the work since 31 October: a multitool makeover, better tether handling, and a round of movement and multiplayer fixes.
Multitool Makeover
- Updated tether gun visuals with animated rings, electrical arcs, and a mode-aware display.
- New beam particles, contact effects, and launch bursts visible to the crew.
- New audio for active tethering, tossing, dropping, building, and cable placement.
Less Wrestling with the Tether
- More predictable positioning and stacking, including a fix for effects accidentally inflating the collision buffer.
- Loose scrap gets pushed aside without shoving the held payload backward.
- Bonks now follow the object you actually see in first person.
- Improved gentle-contact detection and push strength, tuned through multiplayer testing.
Movement and Multiplayer
- Steadier first-person item holding, with movement bob while walking, running, jumping, and landing.
- Fixed the WorldView jump/landing mix-up after loading.
- New jumps can interrupt landing instead of waiting for the recovery animation to finish.
- Corrected the sideways WorldView tether gun.
- Fixed clients walking through the host. Living players now block each other in both directions, with collision still switching appropriately during knockdown and recovery.
Building and Crafting
- Building previews use the machine's hologram meshes for clearer valid/invalid placement feedback.
- The Essentials Crafting Bench now has start, working-loop, stop, and recipe-completion sounds.
Calling All Testers
Please give consecutive jumps, held-item movement, tether stacking and pushing, and player collisions a workout. When reporting multiplayer issues, include whether you were host or client and which input device you used.
