Version 1.3.2 is out now. You can now play in Korean, and the "How to play" guide has been rebuilt.
Note: Players on v1.3.1 or earlier can't join the same room as players on v1.3.2, so make sure everyone you play with updates.
Thanks for playing Drawaoke! I read the 👍👎 ratings you give songs on the answer screen and use them to guide updates. If you run into a bug, please report it with the "Report a bug" button on the title screen so I can fix it quickly.
Play in Korean
- The game's text and songs are now available in Korean. All 75 songs now have Korean vocals, in both song styles (Nursery Rhyme and Synth-pop).
- If Steam is set to Korean, the game starts in Korean. Before this version, the game didn't support Korean, so those players got the English text and songs.
- Steam only downloads the songs for the language you've chosen there, so the game won't get any bigger for players in other languages. To switch languages, right-click the game in your Steam library and go to "Properties" → "Language".
- Set "Where to look for rooms" in Settings to "Worldwide", and you can play in the same room as friends who play in Korean. Their rooms show as "한국어" in the room list.
A new "How to play"
- Go to "First time here?" → "How to play" to see how a game goes, with lyrics and animated drawings, before you play. It shows two players side by side: one who works out the subject from the lyrics and draws it, and one who gets the wrong idea early on and ends up drawing something else entirely.
- In "Drawing controls", you can try out the controls by drawing on the practice paper.
Quick chat messages
- In the lobby and during a game, press the "Quick chat" button to the left of the chat box to send one of 8 phrases, such as greetings, thanks, and compliments.
- Other players see the message translated into their own language. For example, "Thank you!" shows up as "감사해요!" for Korean players, and "お見事!" from a Japanese player shows up as "Nice one!" for English players. Players who speak different languages can still say hi and thank each other.
Blocks now work in other players' rooms too
- You'll no longer end up in the same room as someone you've blocked, whether it's your room or one someone else made. Whichever of you tries to join second can't get in.
- Before, you could end up in the same room as someone you'd blocked if the room was made by someone else.
Terms of Use and Privacy policy
- "Terms of Use" has been added below "Privacy policy" in Settings. Press "Open" to read it.
- We've updated our Privacy policy (November 2). For each song, we've been sending how many times it was played and how many ratings it got, such as "Drew it!" and 👍. We now also send the following about how it was played: whether the game was played to the end or left partway; song style, game mode, and song pace; the language of the game's text; the number of players and bots in the room; whether it was your very first game; and in Guess Battle, which line of the lyrics the subject was guessed on. We use this to tune how hard each subject is and to make things easier to understand for new players.
- We don't send anything that shows who played (your name or Steam account), and we don't send your drawings or chat messages. For details, press "Open" next to "Privacy policy" in Settings (there's now a Korean page too).
Bug fixes
- Fixed ordinary words unrelated to the subject (such as "country") being blanked out in the English version.
If you run into a problem, please let us know with "Report a bug" on the title screen. We also post news on X (@2P_START).
