Troublelings · build 26386318 · published
This update introduces the brand-new Swamp map, featuring a new boss and its associated weapons, along with substantial gameplay improvements based on feedback from our testers.
With over 200 fixes and improvements, this is one of our biggest updates yet! Here are some of the most notable changes:
Swamp: a new swamp map with a sinkhole leading to a cave, rain weather, wall trees, a new color grade, and the Putrid Master Orc boss.
Sky Islands: small islets hanging off the islands, and villages built from complete houses.
Sand Land: a sunnier sky, new beach sand, a coliseum whose gates open with a weight plate.
A flying pet system, starting with the Tabby Kitten. Golden Puppy and Blue Bird followed.
Pets have their own sounds and flight. The Golden Puppy and Blue Bird give buffs and healing.
Wrist grapple with a real swinging rope.
New fun weapons, added multiple new weapons dropped by crates by default.
4 new buff potions, and the speed potion now shows lightning on the body.
Weapon quality tiers: Normal, Rare, Epic and Legendary. Based on level dificulty.
More cosmetics: 3 new full sets, many new cosmetics, and improved hair with physics.
New wall run animation placement and movement improvements.
Climb perches on swamp branches.
You can now carry other players with Q.
Better rope swinging, a smoother landing after jumps, and smoother climb release on slopes.
Feet now sit properly on slopes and stairs.
Target lock-on with R3 or middle mouse.
Glowing weapon slashes.
Shields now parry melee swings, and enemies parry too.
Enemies hold a ready stance in combat. They also get knocked down and get back up naturally.
Damage numbers and critical hits.
Weapons scratch walls, and bullets leave small holes.
Life and damage numbers are all ×10, so hits feel bigger.
Party colors: each of up to 12 players gets their own.
Disconnected players are held for 5 minutes, so rejoining puts you back in your own body.
Dead players can whisper to the living.
The party list only shows parties on the same game version.
New players get a better chance at fun weapons.
The Hub Wizard rescue starts after 1 second, and graves are easier and faster to use. Graves follow the slope and no longer land on traps.
After a boss, the party returns to the hub as soon as every living player enters the portal.
Villagers and critters that wander and patrol.
A conversation system for talking to NPCs.
Vendors have buy and sell sounds.
Breakable ceramics and posts, and campfires that really burn.
Weapon trails on projectiles and an air shockwave on explosions.
A new closed rock base for the Hub island.
Interactive water ripples.
Softer, cleaner shadows.
Skydomes with clouds, and darker, foggier Dungeon colors.
Toast notifications in the HUD, an Aim Height option, and a new loading screen and logo.
Warning badge for large party sizes.
Gamepad changes: Sprint is now B and Crouch is L3.
Boss loot chests now appear reliably.
Enemies no longer stay red for the whole fight.
Swamp enemies no longer stand still.
Fixed the camera ending up above thin ceilings.
Fixed hit flashes, rope hands, legs sliding, and missing translations (English is now the fallback).
Frame rate improvements on Sky Islands and Swamp.
