TITLE: PvP Arena Rework, Kit & Shield Changes - Patch Notes Nov 2
SUBTITLE: Fairer PvP matchmaking, healing that helps every critter, shields that scale with the caster, and quality-of-life fixes.
BODY:
A fairer PvP Arena, healing that helps every critter, bigger shields from sturdy casters, and a few quality-of-life changes. Thanks to everyone who has been playing and sending feedback!
PvP Arena rework
The Arena was too hard, and too often you were not really fighting other players. Now:
- Real players near your level. You are matched against real players' defence squads within 3 levels of you, at their full strength.
- No one near your level? You still fight a real player's squad: the same critters and leader, scaled to 70% of your power, under that player's name.
- Every other opponent is at 70% of your power. The old 92% / 100% / 108% steps are gone. What makes one opponent harder than another is now the mix of critters it brings, not a hidden power boost.
- Fresh opponents every time. NEW OPPONENTS rolls three new random squads, each with its own generated name.
- Rewards, PvP rating and the leaderboard work exactly as before, for every fight.
The Kit helps every critter
- The Kit's Healing stat now also boosts the healing a critter receives (heals and healing over time), not only the healing it gives. It is worth filling on tanks and damage dealers too, not just healers.
Shields
- A shield's size now comes from the caster's own Health, not the target's. A sturdy tank shielding a friend gives a big shield.
- Shields grow with the caster's level: 50% strength at level 1, rising evenly to 150% at level 50.
Hunting for a gear part
- When you use WHERE TO GET on a piece, the game remembers what you are looking for, and the hub shows it.
- When that part drops, it gets a star on the results screen (SIM runs too), and a BACK TO <critter> button takes you straight back to the character who needed it.
Energy
- The energy refill price resets 4 hours after your last refill, instead of 24. Every refill you buy still restarts the timer.
Sound
- One sound per click. Pressing a button plays a single click, instead of a click with a second sound on top.
