Hi everyone,
Thank you to everyone who played and sent feedback this week. This update fixes most of what you reported. The zombies move and fight far more smoothly, the first day eases you in, and a long list of rough edges is gone.
Zombies
- Smoother movement. Subjects no longer flicker between shuffling, lurching and standing still, and their feet keep up with them when they run.
- Grabs play out properly. A subject that has hold of you finishes its bite instead of restarting the same second over and over.
- They fall where they die. Bodies drop to the floor instead of hanging in the air.
- Idle subjects play through their rarer fidgets instead of being cut off.
Your first day
- The onboarding ticket can no longer be closed before its steps are done, which could hold up the rest of Day 1.
- Day 1's first tickets now arrive spaced out, instead of all landing at once when onboarding ends.
- The job guide now follows your most urgent ticket, not the oldest one.
- Meeting Helen counts however the conversation starts, so the guide no longer keeps telling you she's waiting.
- The phone no longer lists the same ticket twice.
Menus and controls
- Esc closes one thing at a time. Closing a minigame, panel or lift no longer opens the pause menu too.
- The Windows key no longer opens Start, so it can't pull up your real Start menu over the game. Use the Start button.
- The pause menu, the key bindings list and the ServiceDesk buttons now fit on every screen size. Settings scroll when needed.
- The A+ question card keeps your mouse cursor, even when something closes behind it.
- Desk Only now has a way back: Main menu (F2), Power or Esc return you to the menu.
The facility
- The office software has its own names. You now work in Panes, PaneShell and the Verge browser, read mail in Postbox, and connect with Remote Assist. The commands themselves haven't changed: Get-ADUser, ipconfig and the rest work exactly as before, and so does everything you learned for the A+.
- You can no longer walk past Storage-2's door.
- The spare desk's monitor is off, as Helen says it is.
- The loan Slate in the visitor's printing and file-share jobs is now an actual laptop on the desk.
- Searching Start for "security" finds the firewall console.
Thanks again for playing, and keep the reports coming.
