Ball Maze Β· public Β· first seen
Long time no see! Two weeks have passed since our last update, and we're finally bringing you a new version of Ball Maze.
This update focuses on previously reported issues and feedback from players who tried the game at the exhibition. We've prepared a range of quality-of-life improvements, which is why this update took a little longer than expected.
If you encounter any other issues, please let us know~
π Added a level preview toggle in Settings, so you can choose whether to show a preview before entering a level. Previews are off by default. The preview needed to assign controllers will still appear when first entering two-player mode.
π Added a drop-down list of standard worlds to the world selection screen, making it easier to jump to the world you want.
π Added numbers before world names to make the selected world easier to identify.
π Added left and right stick behavior settings for gyroscope mode. Each stick can be set independently to control the maze, control the camera, or be disabled.
π Added feedback when choosing a side in two-player mode: a side already occupied by the other player is dimmed, and attempting to select it causes it to shake, turn red, and play a warning sound.
π In the Settings menu, holding a controller D-pad direction now moves continuously through the options.
π Added a black dividing line to two-player pause, fall, completion, and other screens to make the two playersβ sides easier to distinguish.
π Added feedback to the scroll prompts on the Statistics page and the Team page in Settings: the prompts highlight while scrolling and return to normal when scrolling stops.
π§ When using a controller to change balls from the pause menu, you must first press Down on the D-pad to enter ball selection mode.
π§ When reopening ball selection, the previously selected ball is now shown by default.
π§ Adjusted the default selection when choosing a level: after leaving an unfinished level, the most recently played level is selected; after completing a level, the next level is selected.
π§ Adjusted the orientation of level selection indicators so they turn to the angle closest to facing the screen.
π§ Adjusted level selection indicator visibility: indicators for locked star ratings are now translucent.
π§ Added selection feedback to level indicators: the selected indicator grows larger, and its arrow grows even larger.
π§ Added a three-segment information ring to level selection indicators. The yellow segments show the star rating, making it easier to see.
π§ Changed the default controller button for switching between single-player and two-player modes. On a PlayStation controller, use the Triangle button.
π§ Either player can now independently switch back to single-player mode or exit two-player mode without waiting for the other player.
π§ Increased the movement animation speed when choosing a side in two-player mode.
π§ Adjusted the color tones and saturation of some worlds.
π§ Standardized some terminology across languages and adjusted some overly long interface text.
π Fixed an issue where gyroscope controls could reverse direction or cause the maze to rotate suddenly at certain angles.
π Fixed an issue where a keyboard and mouse or a second controller could not join after entering two-player mode with a controller.
π Fixed incorrect camera views for some balls in two-player mode.
π Fixed an issue where using βRetryβ in two-player mode could create multiple balls.
π Fixed missing buttons and text on the ball-fall screen in two-player mode on Mac.
π Fixed an issue where control icons in the pause and fall menus could display the wrong device for a player.
π Fixed an issue where a controller could not navigate to the key binding area when first entering Settings.
π Fixed an issue where the timer continued after leaving a level for the main menu, affecting the timer when entering a level again.
π Fixed a missing device button icon for the translation button on the ball selection screen.
π Fixed issues with some Korean text displaying incorrectly and interface text overflowing.
π Fixed occlusion transparency in the Maze Editor. The occlusion effect now follows the selected track and does not hide tracks when none is selected.
π Fixed counters not resetting when retrying or previewing the same level again in the Maze Editor.
π Fixed excessive video memory usage that could occur on some levels in the Maze Editor.
π Fixed a mismatch between the transparency setting and the actual appearance of objects obscuring the camera.
Gyroscope controls may behave abnormally on ROG Ally devices running SteamOS. We are continuing to investigate.
The Mac version may crash in some circumstances. We are continuing to investigate.
On Mac, a Steam network error may prevent the game from starting. Restarting Steam can resolve the issue. We are continuing to improve this behavior.
Thank you for your patience and support! π
