Loomsong Chronicle Idle | Updates 1.11–1.12
These notes cover both builds, including the changes from the local-only 1.11 milestone.
This update introduces The Nameless Slaughterworks, a new permanent secret area, alongside improvements to party movement, bridge crossings, tight corridors, and navigation performance.
New Secret Area
- Added The Nameless Slaughterworks, a Korr-themed secret area featuring the Butcher of the Nameless, Slaughterworks Enforcers, and Slaughterworks Chainhands.
- Normal and Grand Expeditions have a 1% chance to contain its secret portal. Your party discovers and enters the portal automatically, without an additional confirmation screen.
- Newly generated Endless Dungeon floors have a separate 1% chance to become a Nameless Slaughterworks floor.
- The Butcher is a Guardian with twice the Health of the reference Korr Guardian and retains the appropriate Guardian loot, including eligible keys and Bounty Marks.
- When encountered on a tenth Dungeon floor, the Butcher fulfills that floor’s required Guardian encounter.
- Nameless and Moonburrow portals can appear in the same expedition, with each area retaining its own progress.
New Rewards
- Nameless Butcher’s Knife: A new Unique dagger with the Unnamed Wounds signature. Eligible direct hits inflict Bleed, with the damage used to calculate those wounds increasing with the signature’s level. Knives obtained from Grand Expedition visits can roll Exalted modifiers. The knife has a 20% drop chance.
- Hook Claw: Fires three chained hooks that damage enemies and pull eligible targets into melee range. Requires a melee weapon. Bosses, Guardians, and anchored targets take damage but cannot be pulled. The ability gains experience and supports mastered Scribing, but cannot be Woven. Its book has a 25% drop chance.
- Legendary Butcher Companion: A new loot-collecting pet with normal following and leveling behavior, a Health species bonus, and random modifiers. It has a 10% drop chance.
- Korr Syndicate Badge: A new boss-drop item equipped in a potion slot. It increases the expedition portal chance to 25% total and is consumed only when used for a successful boosted entry. Natural portal entries and special Dungeon floors do not consume it.
- On Dungeon visits, the knife, ability book, and pet are awarded through the unlocked boss chest, preserving the Dungeon’s loot rules.
- Added discoverable Special Bestiary entries for the new enemies, revealed after their corresponding kills.
Party Movement
- Improved party spacing and forward progress when crossing bridges and moving through narrow hallways.
- Characters now follow their actual position in a passage more consistently, reducing unnecessary attempts to return to roster-ordered positions.
- Reduced stop-start movement caused by characters yielding while still blocking the rest of the group’s forward progress.
- Reduced unnecessary backward movement when joining clear passages or approaching bridges across dry ground.
- Improved continuity between travel, gathering jobs, and nearby threats to reduce avoidable direction changes.
- Fixed a generated-floor line-of-sight and projectile-collision issue that could leave a wand user unable to attack a nearby enemy, including the reproduced Moonburrow case.
- These improvements retain normal wall, water, and character collision checks.
Performance And Visuals
- Moved additional navigation-graph preparation out of active gameplay and into loading.
- Improved route-cost reuse and spread hidden enemy-respawn preparation across updates to reduce bursts of navigation work.
- Controlled tests showed reduced navigation-related frame-time spikes in Cinderwake and improved frame-time consistency in Sable Writ.
- Fixed flickering where the ends of Korr’s main bridge intersect the terrain, without changing its walkable surface or navigation.
- Corrected the Butcher’s cleave effect registration so it uses the intended ground-aligned directional presentation.
Compatibility
- Added new content text in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.
- Added save support for Nameless encounters, secret-area travel, and active Hook Claw pulls, with older-save compatibility checks.
- Verified actual saving, quitting, and fresh-process loading in the packaged game.
- Existing Steam achievement progress is preserved.
- The demo retains its level-25 limit.
Still Being Monitored
Short regrouping movements and occasional frame-time spikes can still occur. This update improves the reproduced movement and performance issues; it does not claim to eliminate every backtrack or pause. An isolated, non-fatal Godot re-entry error also remains under investigation.
