Thanks to everyone who jumped into the neighborhood this first week! Update 1.1.0 is live, and it's the first of the post-launch updates.
Weapon upgrades at the Armory
- All 7 firearms can now be upgraded three times with your sugar: bigger magazine (+30%), faster reload (-25%), more damage (+15%).
- Upgrades last for the whole run and carry over when you CONTINUE.
Armor for your hideout car
- The car you adopt at the hideout's parking spot (Heavy and Gang chassis) can be fitted with four armor pieces at the new workbench: ram, window grille, side plates and reinforced tires.
- Each piece counters a real threat that grows with the days: tyrants and bosses ramming you, gang fire through the windshield, zombies clinging to your doors, and shots aimed at your tires.
- Armor wears down with use and can be repaired. It's all 50s hot-rod style: chrome tube bumpers, diamond grille, flame side plates, whitewall tires.
A big performance pass
- Up to ~50% higher frame rate in the busiest areas in our tests (the Ferris wheel view was the heaviest spot in the game).
- Far fewer sudden, random frame drops after a few minutes of play.
Art pass
- The shark, all the animals, the Ferris wheel, palm trees, the bandstand, the cemetery, house and diner interiors, military sandbags, gas pumps and the three bosses were all rebuilt to match the quality of the cars.
- New car interior: a real steering wheel, 50s seats, gauges and a dome light at night.
Fixes
- Running over a feral dog now sends it flying instead of making it vanish like a regular dog.
- The crate on your shoulder now follows the motorcycle when you jump a ramp.
Have fun, and keep the reports coming in the forums. More is on the way: new radio stations, car upgrades and arcade leaderboards.
