Ghosts have escaped onto your desktop, a witch has brewed her potion, and a mysterious cat is watching your cursor’s every move…

A major update has arrived in Magic Cursor! Explore the new Halloween category, filled with effects and mini-games. Beyond the spooky additions, I’ve also improved familiar effects and added new settings.

🦇 12 New Cursor Effects

Bats, pumpkins, a ghost, a witch, a spectral chain, and other companions for your cursor.

Among the new additions are the Cursed Dagger and Spectral Arrow: full replacements for your regular pointer, complete with animations when you left-click. Try every effect — each has its own little details!

🌙 10 New Screen Effects

Give your desktop a Halloween atmosphere:

• Pumpkin displays with flickering faces.
• A witch’s table with a cauldron, candles, and an unusual portrait.
• A graveyard with a crypt, hands reaching out of the ground, and surprises inside a coffin.
• A web with a crawling spider.
• A cursed moon, ghostly fog, and more.
• A mysterious cat by the taskbar that watches your cursor and reacts to your actions.

Some effects respond to mouse movement, hovering, and keystrokes. Explore them — not every surprise reveals itself right away!

Ghost Hunter
Catch ghosts with a green beam and try to score 2,026 points!

Trick or Treat
Test your skills in the second Halloween mini-game. The achievement target is 12,345 points!

🏆 9 New Achievements

A separate Halloween 2026 achievement set has been added. Try the new effects, play the mini-games, reach the score targets, and add your favorites to your collection.

🎃 Taskbar Customization

You can now enable Halloween taskbar decorations from the Halloween category page.

A transparent taskbar option is also available in Settings. Both features can be used independently of cursor and screen effects.

⚙️ New Settings and Usability Improvements

• Automatically launch Magic Cursor when you sign in to Windows.
• Separate scale and opacity controls for cursor and screen effects, with individual reset buttons.
• A “Remember Adjusted Parameters” option. It is disabled by default, so effects use their recommended settings.
• Your selected effects, pause state, and disabled effects are remembered between sessions. If you stop the effects, they won’t turn themselves back on the next time you launch the app.
• Updated navigation, a dedicated mini-games section, and redesigned sliders.

✨ Improvements to Familiar Effects

Rainbow effects, Mineral Vein, Real Snake, Atom, Pink Magic, Druid Vine, Flora, Circuit Board, and Laser Welding have been updated.

UFO Farm now has updated graphics and new rules: if an animal or farmer reaches the barn, your current score resets. Staying in one place to earn points indefinitely is no longer possible!

Aquarium now features eight distinct fish species, each with its own appearance and animation.

🧪 Experimental Features

Selected screen effects now offer an adjustable clear area around the cursor to help you see what’s underneath. Some effects also let you adjust screen dimming separately while keeping the other visual details visible.

These controls only appear for effects that support them.
