Hey Commanders,
A quick one with fixes from your reports:
- Waves no longer get stuck with no enemies left on the field (it could happen around wave 20 to 30). If the game ever loses track of an enemy, it notices within a second and the wave ends as it should. Sorry to everyone whose run got stuck.
- If your PC crashes or loses power while the game is saving, the game no longer gets stuck on a gray screen at the next start, even after reinstalling. It checks its save files at launch and puts back the last good copy of a damaged one (thanks Grisu!).
- Vehicles no longer look like they're made of fog or flicker while their machine guns fire (thanks lnomsim!). The Jeep, the AA gun and several WW2 vehicles and their tracks now take the sun, shade and night like everything else.
- Blood no longer piles up on the ground until you can't read the battlefield. New option under Settings → Graphics → Blood on the ground: from Off to 5 minutes, or Permanent if you liked it the old way. By default it fades out over a minute.
- Collecting a supply crate finally feels like something: it opens with a clank, sand puffs up and the credits it paid pop up where it stood. Crates the Quartermaster collects for you show it too.
- Running expeditions show the reward range they can bring back instead of $0 (thanks DarkRod). What they actually bring is rolled when they return, as before.
More patches are on the way. Appreciate all the feedback and reports, keep 'em coming!
If you have a minute, I'd really appreciate a review on Steam, whatever you think of the game. Honest reviews help other players decide whether Wartide is for them, and they tell me what to work on next. As a solo dev, I read every single one.
See you on the front,
-- Tolga ⚡
