Final Playtest Patch

With four days left in the playtest, I’ve put together a few more fixes to make the final stretch a little smoother. Though the flashlight took a little extra work.

1. The flashlight no longer sends the character flying
After adding it, the character could unexpectedly launch into the air while rolling or falling. I meant to give you a light, not a jetpack. Fixed.
2. Being tired no longer stops you from fighting back
Previously, running out of stamina completely prevented the character from attacking zombies. He was exhausted, but nobody had told the zombies. I’ve removed this restriction: you can now attack even with an empty stamina bar.
3. Stamina recovers a little faster
I’ve slightly increased the recovery rate. But those energy drinks you find are still worth using: infinite stamina wasn’t included in this patch.
4. You can now hear when you collect loot from bodies
I’ve added a sound notification when you receive items while searching a body. Now it’s a little clearer that checking someone else’s pockets wasn’t a waste of time.
5. The flashlight key can now be rebound
The previous patch gave it a dedicated key. This time, you can finally choose that key yourself in the control settings.
6. Some environment touch-ups
Fixed several visual issues, including gaps, flickering textures, and incorrectly scaled objects. Also fixed a number of collision issues.
7. The padlock hint no longer contradicts itself
The text told you to find a keycard, while the video showed you shooting a padlock. I’ve corrected the description. Both parts of the hint now agree on how to open the way.
8. Added two boxes of assault rifle ammo
A small boost to your supplies.
9. Q no longer turns your weapon into a sewing machine
Holding Q allowed you to fire without the delay imposed by the weapon’s fire rate. That unintended upgrade has been removed.
