Festival Tycoon 0.1.14: Seven New Languages, Real Phone Calls and Exit Gates
This is a big one! Festival Tycoon now speaks seven more languages, your phone actually rings, and you can finally stop the whole crowd squeezing out through the main entrance at closing time. Several fixes in this update come straight from your feedback, so thank you!
🌍 Now in 8 languages
- The whole game is now available in German, Simplified Chinese, French, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish, as well as English.
- When you first launch the game, a language picker appears with your system language already selected.
- You can switch language at any time from the flag at the top right of the main menu, or in Settings.
- Voiced lines stay in English, with subtitles in your language.
📱 Your phone, upgraded
- Real phone calls: calling the press, a talent agency or the crew now rings. Someone picks up and talks to you, or you get their voicemail.
- Plenty of different voices: calls are answered by different people, men and women, with lots of different greetings, replies and goodbyes, so calls don't repeat.
- New phone in the corner: your phone now sits in the bottom right of the screen and shows the time and your notifications. Close it with the ✕ button, N or Esc.
- Live Instafest likes: new posts start at zero and the hearts tick up in real time as guests see them.
- Live camera: the Camera app now shows exactly what your photo will capture before you take it.
📢 New tannoy voice
- The festival announcer has a new, more natural voice, with the same dry British wit.
🚪 Exit Gates
- New Exit Gate in Infrastructure (£1,500).
- Set it into your fence with the sign facing out. At the end of the day, guests leave through whichever exit is closest instead of all walking back to the main entrance.
- In testing, two exits on the far side of the site took around 40% of departing guests, which made closing time much less crowded.
⭐ Celebrities
- Every celebrity now has their own unique look: Skye Valentine, Rex Thunder, Dani Okafor, Marco Bellini, Lady Juniper Ashworth and Big Tunde.
- The Helipad is now properly helicopter-sized. It was accidentally being shrunk to roughly the size of a person.
📋 Clearer complaints
- The Guests panel now has two lists:
- Complaints right now: the top 5 live complaints, which fade as you fix the problem.
- Top complaints this festival: the top 3 overall, to help you plan the next one.
🛠️ Fixes
- Fixed the announcer and guests saying there was no vegetarian food when a Veggie Kitchen or Plant Burger Van was on site.
- Fixed criminals (and the security guards chasing them) getting stuck at the entrance. They now run properly out through the gate or the nearest exit.
- Chill-Out Decks and lawns are now used straight away, without needing to save and reload.
