Major Update v1.2.0 — New Upgrades, Skills & a Fresh Look

On Steam

A major update is on the menu!

The Last Buffet v1.2.0 brings a fresh look and more ways to build your defense. This major Early Access update introduces permanent progression, active skill loadouts, an expanded campaign, and improvements to placement, combat, and saved games.

Permanent upgrades: build your own strategy

Earn Meta-DNA by completing campaign levels for the first time, then spend it in a 51-node progression tree.

  • Firepower: Increase tower damage, firing speed, and range. Unlock Splash Kitchen to make tower hits damage nearby enemies.

  • Tactics: Unlock combat abilities and improve their effects, durations, and cooldowns.

  • Survival: Start with more gameplay DNA, increase maximum stomach health, and reduce incoming damage.

  • Tower Masteries: Specialize in your favorite foods with ten tower-specific masteries that improve damage and firing speed.

  • Speed unlocks: Unlock 3× and 4× game speed.

Meta-DNA is separate from the DNA you spend during a level. First-clear rewards grow as you advance, and replaying a completed level does not grant another Meta-DNA reward.

15 active skills. Five slots. Your choice.

Choose your active skill loadout before each fresh attempt. Bring up to five unlocked skills and build combinations around your strategy.

  • Stomach Acid and Spicy Burn: Damage visible enemies over time.

  • Brain Freeze and Sticky Honey: Freeze enemies or slow their advance.

  • Sugar Rush and Double Serving: Temporarily boost tower firing speed or double tower damage.

  • Healthy Snack: Restore stomach health, with an upgrade available to increase healing.

  • Salt Rain: Strike visible enemies with repeated hits.

  • Oil Splash: Follow up on burning enemies with an extra burst of damage.

  • Rotten Tomato: Remove a portion of visible bosses’ maximum health—but temporarily speed up regular enemies.

  • With my heaaad: Gain extra DNA during the battle.

  • Banana Slip: Make one regular enemy slip out of the fight.

  • Sleep Tea: Put enemies and towers to sleep. Combine it with Sugar Rush to wake your towers, and land a tower hit within ten seconds to avoid losing the attempt.

  • Pepper Sneeze: Sweep away regular enemies in successive groups of one, two, and three.

  • Gummy Trap: Immobilize up to five regular enemies at the cost of one stomach health. Keep damaging the trapped group to prevent it from breaking free.

You can purchase skills directly from the preparation screen, with missing prerequisites and their combined cost displayed before buying.

A completely refreshed interface

The menus and battlefield interface now share a distinctive printed-paper style, with dark green backgrounds, cream lettering, rough edges, and receipt-inspired panels.

  • Redesigned main menu, settings, save screen, and gameplay HUD.

  • Receipt-style upgrade and skill selection screens.

  • Kitchen order tickets for chapter selection, with locked, next, and completed states.

  • Detachable reward stubs and completion stamps.

  • Refreshed victory and defeat panels.

  • New active skill icons, information cards, cooldown displays, and animated wave tickets.

An expanded ten-level campaign
