Big update: the inn

On Steam

Travelers have long been asking where they could spend the night after a mug or two. Now they have a place)

All this time, an abandoned inn has been standing next to the tavern: holes in the roof, boarded-up windows, cobwebs. Time to fix it up. (you’ve seen this building before, right? :) )

The inn

  • Restore the inn, and by morning it comes back to life: the lanterns light up and the windows start to glow.

  • A check-in desk will already be waiting for you in the entrance hall, and a straw mattress in the first room. You can take in your first lodgers right away.

  • The other rooms are repaired at their doors, and two spacious suites await on the second floor.

  • The guest ledger lies on the desk: you decide who stays and in which room. The cozier the rooms, the nobler the guests and the pricier the night.

  • 15 new items to furnish the rooms, from a coat rack and a rug to a fireplace with an armchair. Their coziness counts toward the tavern’s overall coziness.

  • Tired of checking guests in yourself? Hire a maid: she’ll greet them and tidy up.

  • “Reputation” is now called “Coziness”, it’s more honest that way)

A nicer start

  • A new game starts with 2,300 gold, and the starter kit includes two chairs.

  • Levels 2 and 3 come noticeably faster, and the tutorial is shorter.

  • The shop shows all bottles, and locked ones tell you how to unlock them.

  • Up to three guests drop by at once right from the start.

  • Helpers can be hired from level 2.

New

  • Valley map on M: no more getting lost)

  • A day now lasts 15 minutes, so evenings come more often.

  • Brightness setting.

  • Discord button in the main menu: come say hi)

  • Vases, candles and books can be placed on shelves, chests and nightstands.

  • XP for completing villagers’ quests and for cleaning.

Changes

  • The bartender makes any unlocked recipe.

  • The recipe book hints “Need more” or “Need less”.

  • The Space key presses the “Create” button. (it always did, but you could only guess)

  • The stocker carries more bottles at once. (yes, yes, that sluggish guy)

  • Levels after 11 progress more smoothly.

  • Staff daily wages went up.

  • The cauldron costs 1,000.

  • Elira’s and Bran’s quests are shorter.

  • The tavern got cozier: softer shadows, warm light from furniture, living fire in the hearths, and quieter rain indoors.

Fixes

  • Villagers now visit even when the hall is full.

  • Guests no longer sit on a chair you are still placing.

  • The license for your first garnished drink is granted no matter where the garnish came from.

  • Watering the tree uses 100 ml, and the rest stays in the bottle.

Thanks for playing, and see you by the fireplace)
