Thank you to everyone who played the first wave of the playtest! Your runs and feedback shaped every change below.
Balance
- Meadow now gives 2 Stability instead of 1. Most early losses came from Stability falling behind, not from a lack of Eitr.
- Mountains show up in the shop more often.
- The Golden obelisk unlocks at 40 Eitr instead of 60, so it arrives while you still have room to place it.
- Harvest, Vigil and Archipelago now have unlock challenges: have 3 Farms, finish 4 seasons with exactly one item placed, or have 3 separate islands.
Contracts
- Timed contracts give you one extra season to finish.
- Area contracts ask you to fill 3–4 hexes instead of 3–5.
- The river chain contract is gone for now. Nobody managed to complete it.
A living village
- Villagers now walk around buildings instead of through them, use gates in town walls, and climb ladders up the mountains.
- They prefer roads and the paths they wear between buildings, so your village grows its own trails.
- Every walled town now has at least one gate, and parks get several, so no one is trapped inside their own walls.
- Fishers cast into real water from the shoreline, rivers included, and no longer fish from a grass verge.
- Woodcutters walk into the forest to fell trees. They leave home with an axe and bring back a log.
- Villagers put their tools away when the work is done, instead of carrying a fishing rod all the way home.
- When you place something new, a nearby villager notices it right away.
Visuals
- Rivers and lakes at the edge of your realm now pour over the side into the clouds.
- Longhouses sit on the ground instead of on stilts, and their chimneys smoke once they're built.
Fixes
- Waterfalls, water and the card burn effect no longer freeze or turn stripy after hours of play.
- Fixed lookouts stopping short of the end of a bridge.
- Fixed town gates staying open after a villager walked out of view.
