Mining Now Pays Real Experience

On Steam

Update 1.49.0

The pickaxe has earned a raise. Every find at an ore vein now pays real experience, and what you dig up can skip the floor and land in your bag. Good timing, too: Tom has gone over his price list, and the best of his work now starts at the mines.

You must update your client to log in. Close the game and the launcher, then reopen the launcher and press PLAY. On Steam the update is automatic.

New

  • The Hunting panel has a Minerals filter. Tick it and what you mine goes straight into your bag; anything that does not fit drops at your feet as always.
  • The seconds timer can be moved and resized like the quest tracker: hold middle-click to drag it, and use the mouse wheel over it to change its size.
  • Chat now masks profanity with asterisks in every channel except group chats.

Changed

  • Mining gives 1,500 experience per find from veins of levels 1 to 4 and 3,000 from levels 5 and 6, instead of 1 to 15. Experience Potions and the Experience Slate raise it, the Rebirth penalty applies, and experience bonuses from gear do not.
  • Tom's Forge has adjusted the cost of its properties to reflect the real impact of each one. They now ask for Magic jewels at 70% Purity or higher, more of them the stronger the property. Masterwork and Perfect are unchanged, and orders already left with Tom are not affected. Every recipe is on the Tom's Forge page of the wiki.
  • A Magic jewel now takes its Purity from the Wares that go into it: good Wares make a pure jewel, poor ones drag it down. Hover over a pile of Wares to read its Purity before you spend a Stone of Merien.
  • The Sort button in the Warehouse and the Shared Bank groups items by the color of their name, then by name, so identical items sit together.

Improved

  • The character window (F5) is more compact.
  • NPC menus no longer open partly off-screen.
  • A locked bag (F6) always stays fully on screen, and an unlocked one keeps a larger grip in view.
  • Monster pages on the wiki now show each creature walking toward you.
