Update 0.9.0 — Feature Freeze & The Tape Shelf
We’ve officially hit Feature Freeze! Version 0.9.0 is the last update with new features before our full release. From here until launch, every update will focus entirely on bug fixes and polish — so please keep those bug reports coming!
🕹️ New Features
The Tape Shelf
- A new THE TAPE SHELF banner on the Home screen opens a dedicated view where every dub you've exported sits on a shelf with a thumbnail.
- Pick one to watch it on the big screen, or use SHOW FILE to find it on disk.
- It reads the same folder your exports are saved to, so if you've changed that folder, the shelf follows it.
Timing Nudge
- Came in a bit early or late? While you review a take, use the ◀ ▶ arrows on the compare panel (or [ and ]; hold Shift for fine steps) to slide it up to a second either way.
- The game keeps a second of audio either side of the take lines, so a clipped start or a late finish can be pulled back in.
- The score updates as you nudge. Click the timing readout to put it back.
⌨️ Controls
- Every hotkey can now be rebound under Settings → Controls: Back, the main menu's page and category keys, Clip Studio's play/pause and seek, the Dub Stage's voice effect and nudge keys, and push-to-talk.
- Back now really is rebindable. Before, the setting existed but Escape was hard-wired everywhere.
- Back closes the Credits and Connections screens without also moving the menu behind them.
🛠️ Fixes & Polish
- Packs with a separate dialogue track now play the original line when you listen to it in the Dub Stage.
- Voice effects: switching effects no longer plays a burst of the previous voice first, and HEAR IT AGAIN pressed while an effect is still being applied now waits for it.
- A voice effect still being applied when you pressed NEXT LINE is no longer lost.
- Fixed an error logged on every launch when you got past the title screen quickly.
- Fixed a rare crash in co-op when a player ended up without a character after lines had already been recorded.
- Ultra-wide screens: the main menu is now centred instead of hugging the left edge.
- Windows now starts on DirectX 11. A DirectX 12 driver error when switching away from the game (alt-tab) could crash it.
