September 30 — Desktop compatibility and clearer voyage endings

Desktop and text fixes

  • Fixed the small pixel font appearing filled-in or blurry on some Windows systems. Its authored pixels are now rasterized deterministically instead of depending on operating-system font smoothing, including in port scenes and the loading screen.
  • Added a Linux launcher compatible with Ubuntu systems that prevent Electron's usual sandbox startup path. Steam launch arguments continue to be forwarded to the game.
  • Made desktop shutdown cleanup bounded and reliable so a native dependency cannot leave the game running indefinitely after Quit, including under Proton.

Voyage and battle feedback

  • A sinking ship still receives its full sinking animation by default, but the new Continue control can advance to the memorial. Escape and controller Back do the same.
  • The memorial now has a clear Return to main menu button. It works with mouse, touch, keyboard and controller, and Escape also returns to the menu.
  • Removed the unexplained P/S reload abbreviations from historical battles. The firing arcs around the ship remain the authoritative broadside-reload display, leaving more of the battle visible.

Thank you for the Linux report, Windows screenshots, and detailed voyage-ending feedback.
