This update adds a clearer combat cue, an optional easier-to-read text mode, and further improvements to menus, onboarding, and error recovery.

  • The red outline around a ship's flag now slowly pulses when that ship is actively fighting you. Other enemy outlines remain steady, and the flag itself stays fully visible. Reduced-motion mode keeps the outline steady.
  • Added High legibility text in Options, using Atkinson Hyperlegible Next and appropriate fonts for every supported language. This mode uses natural casing for ordinary labels and notices. The default pixel-text mode retains its pixel-perfect rendering.
  • Reserved the ornate heading font for decorative branding; functional headings use the more readable interface fonts.
  • Improved menu space usage so short screens show more choices, and fixed the clipped page indicator.
  • Fixed oversized shipyard previews covering price details. Ship previews now follow one consistent sizing rule, with the price breakdown on separate lines.
  • The captain offers sailing help in the opening conversation, once per player profile. You can revisit it from the captain menu's Help tab.
  • Added starting-ship combat advice about cannon capacity and heavier warships.
  • Improved compact character details, inventory layout, and save-status feedback.
  • Fixed shipyard material-sale quantities when storage has fractional free space. Stale market and shipyard offers now respect available stock and capacity.
  • Added transaction rollback for unexpected failures during market buys, market sales, and shipyard material sales, preserving earlier successful trades.
  • Hardened error recovery so turning on Diagnostics does not disable the protections used in normal play. Recoverable interface problems keep the voyage running, and a failed frame does not replace the last completed save.

Thank you for the continued playtesting and feedback!
