🛞 Meet the Buggy, Tesera’s new ground vehicle! You can now travel across the world faster and have more fun doing it: bring a friend along and hit the road together!
Alongside the new vehicle, this update brings major improvements across many other parts of the game:
Added a new wheeled vehicle: the Buggy.
Added a temporary recipe for the Buggy. It will be made more complex in the future.
Added experimental modding support. Mods can now be managed through the main menu, but the tools and methods for creating new mods are not yet publicly accessible. The modding system is still under development and remains experimental. More information about its capabilities and modding tools will be provided in future updates.
Added separately configurable engine sound loops for idle and driving, with smooth crossfading between them, and fixed looping issues in the Howler wrapper.
A new flight mechanism for flying mobs has been implemented. It is currently applied to STALKER_DRONE_RANGED.
Added a new sword trail type, with configurable trail types and shaders for each sword.
Added the Unique Recipes system. Unique Recipes are account-bound crafting recipes stored in a separate inventory accessible from the main menu. Once unlocked, a recipe becomes available for crafting in all game worlds. These items are primarily cosmetic and are not intended to affect gameplay progression or provide gameplay advantages. The system is still under development and currently operates in a testing phase. Various types of rewards will be added later.
Added gamepad controls to the main menu.
Added a new sign editor window.
Added a rare iron ore drop to the Endoskeleton.
Added directional sunlight shading for the player's arms and held items.
Added support for `_metallic` textures, enabling metallic reflections on bbmodel models and blocks.
Added new shader notifications.
Added the ability to disable interaction with certain blocks, such as trapdoors. These blocks cannot be opened or closed, and their interaction menu is not displayed.
Added support for defining rotated mob hitboxes (OBBs) in Blockbench, with different menus and actions when hovering over each hitbox.
Added a new easing/interpolation type, Catmull–Rom, for bbmodel animations.
Added `WATER_REFLECTION_ROUGHNESS` to control the sharpness of water reflections.
Added support for Embed layers and biome masks in the asset compiler and texture atlases.
Added mob debug panels in F3 debug mode, toggled by the N key. Displays information about the mob the crosshair is pointing at.
Item filters have been added for the MONOBLOCK_TERMINAL, DEFENSE_FIELD_GENERATOR, and turrets. Container slots now support filtering by item type.
Added the Travel Path system, which displays the path the player has traveled on the world map. This display can be disabled in the map window.
The path is saved even after leaving the game.
The path from the previous session is displayed in gray.
The purple path represents movement through caves.
Direction arrows are displayed along the paths.
The last 2 km of the path are saved.
All cheat commands are restricted by the new `allowCheats` game rule.
In Survival mode, the map is now initially unexplored and hidden, whereas in the Creative menu, the map is fully visible.
Mobs follow paths more accurately and are less likely to accidentally fall into pits.
All existing structures have been fully updated to support this feature.
Multitool: increased gathering speed, fixed resource drop issues, and added damage information to the Info window.
Raiders and settlers can now return to the structure they belong to.
Mobs wider than 1 block can step over pits 1 block wide.
Up to three active quests are now displayed on the right side of the screen.
You can now quickly open the quest window by pressing J.
Updated the inventory item deletion dialog to match the new interface design.
UI base scale 0.85: 100% now looks like the former 85%.
Loot and a guard have been added to the fallen island structure.
Dropped backpacks can now be opened in starting structures (and private zones).
The rusty boat structure, which is planned for the open sea, has been removed from the coastlines.
Trees in starting structures are now replaced with the corresponding wood type in Azure biomes.
Reduced the overly bright texture glow of the Meshroom.
Music discs have been replaced with full models in various colors.
The `doMobThinking` game rule is now always treated as true for vehicles.
Any vehicle can now have multiple passenger seats. Currently, this is used only for the Buggy.
Removed the vehicle shutdown sound when exiting a vehicle.
Improved cloud visuals and optimized rendering performance with temporal reprojection.
Disabled two-handed animations while sleeping or sitting.
World creation is now 2.5–3 times faster thanks to a faster search for a starting structure location.
Vehicle drivers now drown underwater, just like passengers.
Mob attacks now deal damage to vehicles more correctly when players are inside.
Vehicle values are now synchronized in the mob state debug window when a mob is used as transport and controlled by a player.
Mob hitboxes and AABBs are now scaled when `scale != 1` in `conf_world.json`.
The WorldBuilder admin panel is now enabled for SystemAdmin in every world.
Item acquisition quests now count items that were already in the inventory when the quest was received.
Quests now count blocks crafted and/or placed before the quest started.
Periodic drone attacks no longer create a temporary spawner block.
When creating a MONOBLOCK_TERMINAL, the player receives an empty terminal block (without data).
The fabrication queue is now automatically sorted, moving tasks to the first slot and filling in the gaps.
Items in crafting result slots can now be automatically used for crafting.
Improved handling of situations where multiple identical ingredients are required and only some of them are available.
When crafting is canceled, remaining ingredients are moved to the backpack instead of the hotbar.
Improved checking of available space for mob spawning in structures.
Multiple fixes for the CinemaMaker plugin.
Updated Electron to a newer version.
Block access can be assigned to factions, such as "players".
Players cannot open turrets they do not own.
Power sources and the beam for COMPACT_LASER_TURRET have been configured.
Mode selection cards are now displayed when creating a new world.
Mines and explosive crossbow bolts no longer destroy blocks.
The damage and radius of explosive bolts have been significantly increased.
Hoverbike durability has been significantly increased.
Terminals now consume battery charge and can be turned off.
Bucket and watering can interactions have been reworked and unified. Both can now be placed as blocks, and the wooden bucket is now functional.
Mob possession mode now uses the possessed mob's attacks and stats.
All images on paintings and screens, as well as the game mode switching icons, have been completely replaced.
Legacy dungeon well generation has been disabled.
Various changes related to crafting recipes:
reduced material requirements for metal Plates, Workpieces, and Fine Details;
moved some decorative items to a lower-tier Artisan Table;
reworked the crossbow recipe and moved it to the first Workbench;
removed wood frame recipes from the inventory to reduce clutter.
*Various changes related to mobs:
rebalanced Tesseranid health and damage;
reduced Soulhound health;
added fear mechanics to most creatures;
reworked creature HP regeneration to use percentage-based values;
reduced the zombie chase distance;
~renamed Cow and Pig to Redhorn and Blueboo;
Turtle and Hermit Crab now react to damage from the Multitool;
fixed NPC reactions to the player.
World and combat system changes:
fixed empty containers appearing in treasure rooms;
reworked healing items;
increased sword attack range;
fixed some quest typos;
increased fire damage;
changed the hotkeys for "Put Saddle" and "Put on Shelves".
Fixed various errors and exceptions in pathfinding.
Fixed flickering mob shadows.
Fixed a freeze during world loading by distributing the workload involved in preparing game resources.
Fixed the incorrect spawning of tesseranids on the Flying Islands.
Fixed eating being interrupted when looking away from the ground into the air.
Fixed FOV settings not being saved from the in-game settings window.
Fixed fog rendering on decals.
Fixed a bug where the Stridewing wouldn't panic and throw off a rider without a saddle.
Fixed a bug where not all blocks would automatically break on the new large oak trees.
Fixed an issue where fake foliage was rendered in the wrong color.
Fixed fleeing mobs running in place after taking damage from barricades.
Fixed mob targeting of the player during scripted attacks.
Fixed an issue where parts of the world would briefly disappear when jumping suddenly or peeking around obstacles, revealing the sky.
Fixed problematic blocks in many structures, such as duplicated beds or broken turrets.
Fixed issues with doors and mobs in starting structures. Trapped mobs can no longer break out.
Fixed fuel drain: vertical suspension velocity no longer counts as movement, and sprinting only consumes fuel while moving.
Fixed vehicle movement over submerged slabs.
Fixed a bug where vehicles would disappear when the player was in the upper chunk while the vehicle's wheels remained in the chunk below.
Fixed the missing "Pick-up" menu option for buggies created using the summon item.
Fixed incorrect lighting on double-sided surfaces of the sword tip and arms in first-person view.
Fixed an empty InGameMain tab after displaying the delete confirmation dialog.
Fixed errors occurring when using the item deletion slot in chests that caused desynchronization.
Fixed the Multitool breaking the block the player is standing inside instead of the targeted block.
Fixed rare block desyncs between the client and server when breaking blocks and performing other actions.
Fixed mouse click handling during loading.
Fixed projectile slot sizes and spacing between tooltips in the turret window.
Fixed and improved the DEFENSE_FIELD_GENERATOR menu window.
Fixed numerous minor issues in structures.
Fixed UI bugs in WebGL.
