Multi-Tactics 0.3.0β Update

On Steam

# Version 0.3.0β Is Now Available

This update focuses on the new "Push" mechanic for moving into full Groups, gaining and spending Will through Channeling, improvements to how defeated enemies are handled in the loot screen, and a new prompt to create save data after character creation.

We have also made numerous improvements and fixes based on reported issues, covering Battle AI, progression, multiplayer, the workshop, and other areas.

The major changes are listed below.

## Combat: Push

  • You can now move into an adjacent Group even when it is already at full capacity.

  • When moving into a full Group, you attempt to "Push" one of its occupants out. If successful, the target is moved to another Group and you take their place. If the attempt fails, you are moved to another Group instead.

  • Full Groups are now marked as "(Full)" during Group selection. Selecting one opens a panel where you can choose whom to push and view the success rate.

  • Push success rates depend on the target's size. Allies and critically wounded targets have a 100% success rate; targets one size smaller have 90%, targets of the same size 60%, and targets one size larger 30%. Targets two or more sizes larger cannot be pushed.

  • A target cannot be pushed if there is nowhere for them to retreat.

  • Being pushed does not affect the target's action availability or Will. The character attempting the move consumes their movement action regardless of whether the Push succeeds or fails.

  • Enemy Battle AI can also use Push. When a target is in a full Group, enemies can select an occupant to push based on factors including the success rate.

This prevents situations where filling a Group entirely with allies could completely block enemies equipped only with melee weapons from engaging them.

## Combat: Channeling

  • Channeling can now grant Will.

  • The amount gained varies according to the character's Channeling skill.

  • Will can now be spent to increase the amount restored through Channeling.

  • After selecting a target, a Will allocation panel appears. Spending Will increases the amount of Concentration and body-part condition restored.

  • The resulting recovery values and the range of Will that can be gained are displayed before confirming the action.

  • Channeling performed from the inventory while at the base remains unchanged and neither spends nor grants Will.

## Battle AI

  • Fixed an issue that could cause enemies to stop moving in narrow mine tunnels.

  • When walls restricted the available areas, the AI could fail to determine the distance to its target and decide not to move. Enemies can now correctly advance toward the party in these situations.

  • Enemy Battle AI can now evaluate and use the new Push mechanic.

## Loot

  • Corpses shown on the loot screen are now generated from the enemies actually defeated in battle.

  • Previously, corpses were predefined for each scene, which could cause the number or types shown to differ from the enemies that actually appeared.

  • Additional corpses specifically defined by the scenario will continue to appear alongside enemies defeated in battle.

## Progression

  • Fixed an issue that could prevent the first-day objective "Stay at the Quarters" from being completed.

  • Fixed an issue where resting at the quarters would sometimes fail to restore Concentration and remaining Channeling uses.

  • Fixed an issue that could prevent the coal mine recapture objective from progressing correctly.

  • After completing character creation in a new game, you will now be prompted to create save data.

  • You can choose not to create a save or select one of four save slots. A created save can then be used to continue the game directly from the title screen.

  • In multiplayer, the host selects the save slot.

## Characters, Equipment & Workshop

  • Fixed an issue where body-part condition values could appear lower than their maximum values for multiplayer guests.

  • Fixed an issue where sorting items in the workshop could allow guests to interact with rows belonging to characters they did not control.

  • Fixed text overlapping the frame in the workshop confirmation panel.

  • Adjusted the positioning of the workshop results panel and trading item descriptions.

## Full Perk List

  • Added filtering by skill.

  • Perks can now be filtered by Body Control, Iron Resolve, Channeling, Mechanical Maintenance, and the eight weapon skills.

  • Filters for Survival, Material Fortune, Environmental Adaptation, and Negotiation are displayed for future expansion but cannot currently be selected.

  • Added an "Available" filter. Perks that cannot be acquired with the character's current attributes can now be dimmed.

  • Hovering over attribute headings and perk requirements now displays the character's current value.

  • Perk requirement descriptions have also been reorganized for improved readability.

## Display

  • The executable, taskbar, and window icons have been changed to the same white deer design used on the Steam store page.

  • Updated the Confirm and Back buttons on the first character creation confirmation screen to match the design used elsewhere in the game.

  • Standardized text sizes in the status panel.

  • Slightly reduced tooltip text size.

## Known Issues

  • The version number displayed on the title screen and in some other locations still shows 0.2.4β. This is a display issue only; the actual game version and content are Version 0.3.0β.
