Another maintenance patch. Nothing here adds content. Every item is the game doing what it already claimed to do, plus two things it should have claimed. If you hit anything that still feels off, the discussion board is the fastest way to reach me. Thanks for reading the rules before you moderate.
The flame war penalty is gone. When a thread boiled over, the game took 3 rep between your actions and the red toast read like you had done something wrong. Now you get the pile-on of posts and a heads-up naming the thread, and nothing else. Reputation and points only move on your own calls. The restart charge from the update dialog went with it.
- The Link Scanner backs you up. Scan a link, get THREAT, ban it under §5, and the game scored it as a gray call, or worse if a thread was burning somewhere on the board. A THREAT verdict now makes the ban a malware ban wherever the post came from. If the scanner was the one lying, the ban costs you nothing beyond the scan, and the account gets its appeal like anyone else.
- Citing a rule with the mouse could do nothing. If you had moved the forum window, the rules.txt Notepad that opens while you cite was sitting on top of the rule picker and eating the click. The picker now always stays on top.
- Tapping a tool key twice, or holding it down, filed a citation you never picked. Pressing [1] twice within a blink banned the post citing §1 Flaming, wrong rule and all. Holding a key now counts as one press, and the picker waits a moment before it takes a number.
- The phone no longer rings while the rule picker is open. The call still comes, just after you are done citing.
- Wave 1 posts can actually be cited. More than half of the rule-breakers in Training Day broke a rule that was not in your rulebook yet, so the game had to wave the ban through with "No rule covers this yet". The first shift now only deals posts you can cite properly.
- A toast could follow you into Ban Appeals. Answer the admin's card in the break room, open the appeals queue while the toast is still up, and it stayed there for good. It leaves with the shop now.
- Popup ads no longer pile up into a staircase of title bars. Each one lands on its own spot, and closing one never moves the rest.
- Shop buttons look like Windows buttons again. Greyed-out BUY buttons and the inactive tabs (Shop, Inbox, Mod Chat, Shift Report) had lost the XP look.
- Locking the flame pile-on you get after skipping a post with a banned word said "Thread locked" when there was no thread. It now says what it did: the flames are gone, no thread was burning.
- The calculator's overflow gag works in Scientific mode too.
