Skyline Sim v0.8.40 Patch Notes

On Steam

Now live on the Playtest default branch for macOS and Windows. Update through Steam to play.

Changed

  • Support staff recruitment is now 60 times faster and starts during the opening month, helping dispatch and ground teams catch up with your fleet sooner.
  • Ordinary qualified support hires can start work immediately. Maintenance and management onboarding takes one month, while specialist service and flight-crew training retain their requirements.
  • Automatic support hiring checks for restored funding every day and resumes eligible campaigns within your hiring budget and cash limits.

Fixed

  • Maintenance keeps active checks assigned to their hangar lines and moves queued visits to available lines, so free capacity can be used without interrupting work already underway.
  • Loyalty promotion screens remain stable when sponsorship information is unavailable.
  • Inbox filing handles only messages that are still open, preventing failures from outdated selections.
  • Completing a used-aircraft purchase no longer reopens the negotiation.
  • Fleet shows the Set as fill-in button directly for available aircraft, and lets you switch the reserve designation off again.
  • Flights with a stranded or missing aircraft now try a compatible available spare first, including a positioning flight and a reasonable delay when needed. If recovery is not feasible, normal delay and cancellation rules still apply.
  • A stranded aircraft can return home after a spare takes over its flights, preventing the same disruption from carrying into later rotations.
  • Connected outbound and return flights keep their crew across midnight and time-zone changes, preventing false crew-conflict and missing-crew cancellations.
  • Delayed inbound crews are checked against their arrival and turnaround time, preventing false out-of-position failures on the return flight.
  • Replacement crews stay assigned through the connected return. Qualified reserves can cover conflicting later duties so a delayed current rotation can finish.
  • Existing crew assignments are checked again when conditions improve, instead of remaining unusable because of an earlier conflict.
  • Knock-on delays are no longer added repeatedly. Recoverable returns can depart after midnight, and curfew checks no longer count the same delay twice.

Cancellation recovery note: These changes address unnecessary crew-conflict,
out-of-position and no-aircraft cancellations, including chains of cancellations
after one disrupted flight. Recovery still needs suitable aircraft and qualified,
rested crew, and must respect maintenance, airport restrictions and available slots.
