Genesis: Rise of Life — Hotfix #1 for 0.4.0
This first 0.4.0 hotfix improves controller navigation, secures guided tutorial steps, and fixes the restoration of previous game windows.
Interface and controls
- The main menu playtest information panel is now fully modal: keyboard, mouse, and controller input can no longer activate controls behind it. A stronger dimmer makes this state clearer, while controllers display a Back prompt matching their button layout.
- On the Construction screen, arrow keys, the stick, and the D-pad now move between nodes according to their visible positions. Navigation no longer wraps arbitrarily across the cell and reaches mutations more naturally.
- After selecting a node, the compatible organite catalogue retains focus until it is closed with Back.
- Organite search now opens a controller-friendly virtual keyboard on platforms that do not provide one natively.
Tutorial — First Instincts
- During guided Construction steps, only the controls required to confirm the requested choice remain active. Back can no longer close the catalogue or return control to the interface behind it; normal controls are restored as soon as the requested purchase is complete.
Display
- Previous windowed configurations can no longer restore the game partially beyond the bottom or right edge of the screen. The saved size is preserved when it fits the available area, then the complete window is moved back inside the display.
Saves and compatibility
- Existing 0.4.0 saves, progression, and settings remain compatible.
- No existing unlocks, organites, or DNA are removed.
