New card mechanic: “Own Goal”!
Feeling a little too safe while in possession (your turn)? From now on, the new “Own Goal” card mechanic means you can never feel too safe!
So, there is a very small chance of drawing an Own Goal card. This awards a goal to the opposing team, while you retain your turn.
Game Design Impact: Even late in a half, when comfortably ahead, anything can still happen. The Coach Skill “Time Wasting” also becomes more valuable, as it reduces the chance of an Own Goal (or other bad cards) occurring while you are in possession (your turn).
Added:
The coin toss now has matching sound effects.
New commentary lines for Own Goals, plus a few additional commentary lines in other situations.
Balance:
Presets freshly rebalanced around the new Own Goal gameplay mechanic: Standard, High-Scoring, and Rough have all been recreated.
Slightly increased bonus after revealing a Technique card (One-Two, Dribbling, Dream Pass) to also reveal a Shot on Goal in the following turn.
Game Design Impact: Teams with high Technique skill will generate more opportunities to score
Slightly increased attribute bonuses at Level 4 and 5.
Game Design Impact: We hope this will result in a slightly higher win rate for Level 4–5 teams against Level 1–2 teams
