VoidBound · public · first seen
Patrons, a new journey awaits. The latest VoidBound Alpha is now live!
This update introduces the new Bounty Guild mission system, along with new quests, skills, rewards, and plenty of other work happening behind the scenes.
For Players Continuing with Old Saves:
To access these new quests, you need to first acquire your Bounty Hunter License. The system would automatically open up after that. Be advised, available bounties are locked behind main questline progression:
Tripteeen Quests [Open by Default]
Xaide Quests [Requires returning from Xaide]
Orc Dungeon [Requires rescuing Ellie]
Let’s take a look at some of the new things in this one!
Meet Roana
Once a bounty hunter herself, Roana now serves as the Guild's liaison to its operatives. She oversees the ranking system, evaluates hunters as they prove their worth, and personally entrusts the Guild's more demanding assignments to those she considers capable.
She's also the face you'll be seeing when it comes to mission briefings and rewards.
Mission Overview
Roana currently offers seven missions tied to each of the game's three main storylines: *Tripteen, Xaide, and the Orc Dungeon*.
These missions will only become available after players have cleared their respective areas, ensuring that each request is accessible at the appropriate point in the story.
The missions come in a variety of forms, ranging from straightforward kill contracts and collection assignments to jobs that require you to visit specific locations and deliver requested items.
Please Note: While these missions aren't intended to be repeatedly undertaken from a canonical standpoint, for this release cycle we're giving players the freedom to tackle them as many times as they like. Feel free to experiment, test the system, and make the most of the available missions while they're open for repeat play.
While we initially planned to launch with nine missions(three for each main dungeon zone),the current total stands at seven, with only one dedicated mission for the Orc Dungeon. This is because the Orc Dungeon mission is longer and more varied, featuring multiple objectives rather than a single straightforward task. We do plan to expand the system with new missions in the future, so stay tuned for further additions!
The new system introduces a ranking structure for Guild operatives, with players starting as Rookie and progressing through Scout, Tracker, Agent, and finally Ace.
Each completed mission awards a set amount of reputation upon turn-in. However, as you climb the ranks, missions provide diminishing reputation gains, meaning you'll need to complete progressively more missions to reach the next rank.
For now, rewards consist exclusively of unique skills like:
Scout
· Tactical Retreat
· Deep Breathing
Tracker
· Flying Knee
· Intrusive Thoughts
Agent
· Makeshift Grenade
· Distraction
Ace
· Overcharge
· Arousing Thoughts
· Ragebaiting Thoughts
Future updates will expand the reward pool to include credits and weapon modifications as well!
Combat ingame was recently expanded with Quick-Time Events (QTEs) tied directly to many of the new follow-up skills used by enemies. We've now added multiple options for players who want more flexibility with the QTE system. You can now extend the duration of QTEs to 1×, 2×, or 5× their normal timer or, disable QTEs entirely if they're not your thing!
