Farm Factory Simulator · build 24857191 · published
Hi farmers, 😄
Thank you for continuing to play Farm Factory Simulator during Early Access.
We would also like to thank everyone who has shared feedback, suggestions, and bug reports through the Steam Discussions and the in-game Bug Report / Feedback feature.
Your feedback continues to help us review which systems need better controls, clearer information, smoother automation behavior, economy adjustments, or performance improvements.
In this update, we focused on improving Machine Management, adding more control over factory costs, expanding delivery automation, improving Daily Report details, and adding several quality-of-life improvements for larger factories.
Here is what is included in this update.
Daily Machine Upkeep is now active.
Machines now have a daily operational cost that is charged when ending the day. This cost represents the upkeep of owning and operating Machines in your factory.
Upkeep applies to owned Machines even when they are turned off. This means players who want to reduce daily expenses may want to review unused Machines and sell what they no longer need.
Upkeep information can be checked from several places, including:
Machine Management
Daily Report
End Day summary
Buy Machine cards
This should make Machine costs easier to understand before and after purchasing new Machines.
For players who prefer a more relaxed experience, this challenge can be adjusted through the Playstyle settings. If the selected Playstyle does not use Machine Upkeep, the daily cost will be set to 0.
Machine Management now includes a new Sell Mode.
When Sell Mode is turned on, Machine cards will show a Sell button, allowing players to sell Machines directly from the Machine Management panel.
A new Sell All Machines option has also been added.
Sell All applies only to the Machines currently shown in the panel. This means it follows the active tab and search filter. For example, players can use the search field or category tab to narrow down which Machines are shown before using Sell All.
Because Sell All can affect many Machines at once, it will always show a confirmation popup first. The confirmation includes the number of Machines that will be sold, the total money that will be received, and the list of Machines included.
This gives players a faster way to clean up, redesign, or partially reset a factory area without needing to walk to each Machine one by one.
Machine selling value has also been improved. Selling upgraded Machines now returns value based on the Machine level and upgrades that were actually purchased.
Daily Report has been improved with more detailed income and expense information.
Income is now separated into several sources:
Store
Drone
Wholesaler
Other Income
This makes it easier to understand where the day’s income came from.
A new sales detail table has also been added. Players can open Today’s Sales by Commodity to see a breakdown of sales by commodity, including money earned from Store, Drone, and Wholesale sources.
The Expenses section has also been improved with a clearer total, making it easier to understand daily costs and calculate Total Profit.
These changes should make the End Day report easier to read, especially for larger factories with multiple income sources.
Machine settings can now be copied from another Machine of the same type.
A new Copy from another machine button has been added to supported Machine setting popups. This opens a list of similar Machines, allowing players to copy settings from one Machine to another.
This should make it easier to set up multiple Machines with similar behavior without configuring each one manually.
Copied settings can include things such as process speed, power state, selected commodities, recipes, filters, and other related settings depending on the Machine type.
Some values are intentionally not copied, such as upgrade level, condition, battery, or maintenance-related state. These are not copied because they represent paid upgrades or Machine condition, not configuration.
Rack settings are also excluded from this feature, because rack commodity focus and pricing are part of each rack’s own identity.
Players can now control the source priority order for several item-collecting systems.
For Picker Machines, players can control the order of sources such as:
Farm
Storage
Ground
Box
For Supply Arms on farms and Drone Delivery Stations, players can control the order of available sources such as:
Ground
Box
Storage
The order is determined by the order in which the player selects the sources.
This gives players more control over where Machines should try to take items from first, instead of relying only on a fixed system order.
Please note that this source priority controls where items are taken from. It does not replace commodity rotation behavior such as Alternate between items.
Selling items to the Wholesaler is now more flexible.
Previously, selling from a Storage slot to the Wholesaler was an all-or-nothing action.
With this update, selling to the Wholesaler opens a quantity selection popup. Players can choose how many items they want to sell before confirming the sale.
The popup also shows the estimated money that will be received, so players can review the value before selling.
This makes it easier to sell part of a Storage slot while keeping the remaining items for production, delivery, or store sales.
Supply Crane progression has been expanded.
Supply Crane upgrades now go up to Level 6, giving players more room to improve crane capacity and speed as their factory grows.
Additional Supply Crane slots have also been added, allowing players to unlock more cranes later in progression.
This should help support larger Store supply systems and reduce bottlenecks in bigger factory layouts.
New delivery depots have been added for later progression.
These depots expand the delivery system with more late-game delivery options and product requests.
The new depots include:
Sunnyside Preserves
Orchard Bottling Works
Lakeview Resort
Highland Textile Guild
The delivery request pool has also been expanded with more processed products that can appear in depot requests.
The maximum number of Drone Delivery Stations has also been increased for later progression, giving players more room to build delivery-focused setups as their factory expands.
Machine Management now supports sorting Machine cards.
Players can sort Machines by:
Level
Name
Each sorting option can be set to Ascending or Descending.
This should make it easier to find specific Machines, review lower-level Machines, or organize large Machine lists.
Drop Areas now have an Auto Dock setting.
This applies to both Supply Drop Area and Item Drop Area.
When Auto Dock is On, boxes can attach to the Drop Area for more stable stacking and organization.
When Auto Dock is Off, boxes are not bound to the Drop Area. This allows players who prefer the previous loose-box behavior to use the Drop Area that way.
Auto Dock is On by default, so the current safer stacking behavior remains active unless players choose to turn it off.
This setting is saved, so each Drop Area can keep its own Auto Dock state.
Tutorial flow has been improved.
Players who have already completed the tutorial before can now choose to skip the tutorial when starting a new game.
When the tutorial is skipped, tutorial objectives are completed through the normal progression path, and the player can continue from the post-tutorial state without manually replaying every tutorial step.
A gameplay loop summary has also been added around the end of the tutorial flow. This gives players a clearer overview of the main gameplay cycle before continuing into the wider factory progression.
Buy Machine cards now show daily upkeep information.
This allows players to review the expected daily cost of a Machine before purchasing it.
If the selected Playstyle does not use Machine Upkeep, the upkeep cost will not be applied.
This should make Machine purchase decisions clearer, especially when planning larger factories.
Several placement and gamepad improvements have been added.
When using a controller, Machine placement preview now follows the center reticle more accurately instead of using an outdated pointer position.
This should make moving and placing Machines feel more reliable with gamepad controls.
Several gamepad navigation issues have also been improved, including navigation around Copy Settings, crane unlocks, and upgrade interactions.
Several Machine setting panels have received layout improvements.
The Delivery tab description now adjusts its height more reliably, reducing cases where text could overlap with settings below it.
The Delivery settings panel has also been adjusted to reduce layout overflow issues.
The wholesale sell popup has received visual improvements so long commodity names and icons fit more reliably.
Machine Management panel performance has been improved for larger factories.
Machine cards are now prepared and removed more gradually instead of all at once.
This should reduce freezing or heavy pauses when opening, placing, or removing Machine Management in factories with many Machines.
Supply Arm source scanning has been optimized.
This should help reduce performance cost in larger saves where many Machines, items, and possible item sources need to be checked.
The goal of this improvement is to make large factory automation feel smoother, especially when many item-collecting systems are active.
Revision:
The previously introduced Safe Graphics launch option has now been changed to the default play option.
This default mode is intended to provide broader graphics compatibility and help avoid certain visual or rendering issues across a wider range of GPU configurations.
A new optional GPU-Optimized Mode is now available for players using supported or compatible GPUs. This mode is designed to reduce GPU workload and improve GPU efficiency on hardware that supports the required graphics features.
Please note that GPU-Optimized Mode is not intended for all GPUs. On unsupported hardware, some objects or visual elements may not appear correctly.
When launching the game through Steam, players can now choose between:
Play [Game] — Default graphics mode with broader compatibility.
Play with GPU-Optimized Mode — Recommended only for supported GPUs to reduce GPU usage.
Players who are unsure which option to use should remain on the default play option.
Old Info:
A safe graphics launch option has been added for players who experience certain visual or rendering issues.
Players who need it can use the Steam launch option:
-ffs-safe-graphics
or just choose the option when playing the game through Steam.
This option is intended as a compatibility fallback for specific graphics-related problems while still keeping the other available optimizations active.
Fixed an issue where selling upgraded Machines could return only the base Level 1 value.
Selling Machines should now return value based on the Machine level and upgrade cost that was actually paid.
This applies to Machine selling through several paths, including Machine Management, Machine boxes on the ground, and Box Storage slots.
Fixed an issue where boxes on a moved Drop Area could return to their previous position after saving and loading.
Box positions are now saved more reliably, including cases where a Drop Area is moved while boxes are stacked on it.
Fixed an issue where Machine placement preview could follow an incorrect pointer position when using a controller.
The preview should now follow the center reticle more accurately during sandbox placement and Machine movement.
Fixed an issue where a Machine being moved could push boxes around while passing through them.
Boxes can still block placement as intended, but moving a Machine preview should no longer push boxes out of place.
Fixed an issue where the player body could block the view when focusing on Machine monitor panels at close range.
The player body is now hidden while focusing on Machine monitor panels and restored afterward.
Fixed several gamepad focus and navigation issues across the update.
This includes focus behavior after opening crane slots, upgrading to the highest crane level, using Copy Settings, and interacting with several updated UI panels.
Fixed several layout issues in the Picker Delivery tab.
This includes text height, description spacing, and cases where the settings panel could overflow or push action buttons out of view.
Fixed several display issues in the Wholesale sell quantity popup.
Commodity icons and long commodity names should now fit more reliably without overlapping.
Fixed several display issues in the commodity visual that happen to the Mohair changing 3D model after putting into Supply Station, and changing visual for Crop Residue so it have same design with the icon.
