Lexicon 0.9.83 is a big one. Overrides now work the way you always expected them to, clearing the board is finally an event, and a long list of items, audio cues, and controller issues got cleaned up along the way. Highlights below, full notes on the site.
Overrides upgrade every copy of a letter, not one tile. Put an Override on an E and every E you own gets it, on the board, in the bag, and any E you pick up later.
Fixed seven Overrides that did nothing at all. Amplifier, Gold Plating, Lead Pipe, Superconductor, Tinfoil, Voltage and Value Increase were supposed to affect any tile and were affecting none. Gold Plating plus Tinfoil took a letter from 20 to 54 on the same word in testing.
Stacked Overrides blend their colors, so you can read a whole letter's build off the tile.
The Letter Bag screen is one tile per letter with a count, a clean A-Z board with the total at the top and upgraded letters standing out by color.
Filling every letter slot actually pays a bonus now, scaling with your multiplier. Clearing the whole grid is an event, the board ignites and the bonus flies into your score.
Later rounds ask for less. Score targets from round 5 onward were climbing about as fast as a good build could grow.
Items: LETTER REWRITE works during a battle, the Apply and Sell buttons are visible again, dropping an item where it does nothing no longer destroys it, and anything that changes a number shows you which number changed.
Run end: you can skip the report, it reads one line at a time, ECHO-7 waits its turn, and it names the words you declassified.
Logs: redacted words show their length, finding one is a proper stamped moment, and the reader stops yanking itself back to the top while you scroll.
The office: clicking works, inspection lighting stops washing objects out, and instructions stay up long enough to actually read.
Map and battle: more shops and never two in a row, the multiplier chain readout is always visible, rounds are called sectors, and a cleared hard node reads ANOMALY CONTAINED.
Audio: a full pass over every moment that should have made a noise and did not, typing a word sounds like clicking one, and Reduce Flashing no longer kills the sound too.
Controller and controls: confirm registers where it should, the M+K dialogue prompt is much bigger, and RESET TO DEFAULTS actually resets your controls.
The demo is no longer harder than the full game past round 3. (oopsie!)
Fixed a shrunken grid staying shrunken, and a spark effect that could freeze on screen and persist through every menu.
