The main focus of this new update is the completely redesigned upgrade screen. Our primary goal was to create a system that would allow players to make thoughtful decisions that are less dependent on chance. All upgrades are organized into separate tabs by category. What’s more, we’ve added bonus upgrades - these have the greatest impact on gameplay. Each type of upgrade has its own set of bonus upgrades. To unlock them, you need to upgrade the basic upgrades a certain number of times. But you can immediately see what you’re working toward, and these bonus upgrades serve as rewards.
For example, the bonus for the geological survey upgrade set is the access to a completely new type of surveying - searching for a specific resource throughout the entire mine. In other words, all tiles containing the selected resource are revealed underground. Pretty cool, right?
We’re also continuing to work on improving the game’s visuals and usability. We’ve redesigned some windows and pop-ups. We’ve added new cursors that match the game’s style and are more visible against the existing backgrounds. In addition to the standard cursor, we’ve added context-sensitive cursors: one for scrolling the screen and another for hovering over tiles where you can build a tunnel.
In addition, we’ve made numerous fixes and minor changes to the game (for example, resource tiles now show the bonus gained from upgrades).
What do you think of today’s update? We did our best 🙂
We’d like to remind you that we have a Discord server where we discuss various aspects of the game: https://discord.com/invite/9eHyYap. We occasionally post exclusive content there. We look forward to seeing you there!
