This update features a HUGE amount of Editor features and improvements!
Customizing a character's appearance in the Editor now has a dedicated menu:
Customizing a character's inventory in the Editor now has a dedicated menu:
Prior to this update, you can already submit your maps to the Steam Workshop.
However, there are now 2 types of Workshop submissions:
MAPS - Can be played with any game mode, customizable by the player
OPERATIONS - Custom missions with a predefined game mode
You can see both types when browsing your downloaded items with new sort filters:
You can also now select a Workshop map in the Custom Game menu, making it easier to access them.
The Editor now has a Type selector (Map or Operation).
When Operation is selected, you can now create & modify a custom Operation.
This update brings powerful Triggers to the Editor!
WHAT ARE TRIGGERS?
Triggers let your map listen for events and react to them.
A trigger can watch for something happening in the game, check conditions, and then execute one or more actions (with optional delays and execution limits).
Because triggers can interact with the game's event system, creators have full control.
EXAMPLES:
If the player has less than 25% health → trigger an emergency airdrop
If 3 objectives have been completed → activate the extraction sequence
If the player presses a button → check whether the generator is powered → open the bunker door
This means custom maps can now include:
Complex Missions
Escape Rooms
Ambushes and Traps
Chase Sequences
Cinematics
Puzzles
And more!
Triggers are intended to be easy to use but extremely powerful when mastered. No coding is necessary.
A dedicated Editor channel exists on the official Discord for discussing tips and guides.
With the new Trigger system, in-game Cinematics can now be triggered!
