Empire Builder · build 23401036 · published
Solo players and hosts of multiplayer games can now save a game at any time. The game will also auto save in between every turn. Now, when your network decides to take a vacation in the middle of your game just as you are about to win, you can restart from where you left off when it returns refreshed and tanned. After solo play, this was the most requested feature and we're listening. Thank you for making your voices heard and we hope you enjoy the new feature.
DLC release of the Empire Builder: Europe (Eurorails) is coming soon. Empire Builder: Ireland and Europe (2026) are in development.
Yes, we feel like this is a 1.0 version. Save games, solo play and multiplayer round out the three biggest features outside of new maps so 1.0 it is.
- Reworked the main start menu to allow for loading a save game.
- Added a save game browser that can be filtered by solo games or multiplayer games.
- Reworked the lobby browser to be ready for the Eurorails DLC release. Lobbies can now be filtered by map and game version.
- Completely reworked disconnection logic to better guide the user through reconnecting to a game from a flaky network connection.
- Pressing ESC in game now takes you to the Forfeit/Save Game Menu instead of Settings. Going to the settings page first was non-intuitive and we think this is better.
- Added a ping indicator to your player portrait in game and in the lobby.
- Praha Snow event works correctly now.
- Fixed an issue preventing some track building out of Wroclaw and other small cities.
- Added a UI sound for when a player reconnects to a game and the host needs to resume the game.
- Clicking on a city that has no resources to offer and isn't the destination for a demand you have the resource for on your train should not load the city dialog.
- Fixed a bug with display name for Steam users with less than 3 characters in their display name.
- Your build turn is automagically skipped if you have no money. You can turn off this behavior in the Gameplay Settings.
- Forfeited players should no longer need to be skipped manually.
- Consecutive deliveries to the same city should no longer cause problems. The game now disables further turn ins until the cards are drawn and all events are resolved.

Shout out to Steam members on our Discord, mikeltopia, Bob Scatterday, tpkurilla, CCKinnison (Phoenix), D00d-Enigma-Tony, Thomas Vilfroy and Vega_Cub. If I missed mentioning you, it's because I did not see you on our Discord or I just made a mistake. Either way, we still appreciate the testing help.
