The second gameplay patch is now live with the following changes:

Penalties, scoring and achievements

  • Fixed "moved at booked stop" penalty to not trigger too early when coupling onto another train
  • Changed "driving from wrong cab" penalty to only trigger at 5+ mph
  • Changed "powering against brakes" penalty to only apply if power and brake are both at least 50%
  • Added a penalty for running with the handbrake on
  • Added a penalty for changing gears without shutting power first
  • Reduced the effect of economy on overall score
  • Fixed perfection achievement to trigger for runs shorter than 10 miles

Controls

  • Fixed railcar reverser handle to work with the mouse scroll wheel
  • Fixed power handle to be off for rolling starts

HUD

  • Fixed HUD station stop progress bar
  • Added HUD view menu options for changing to next/previous car (useful for gamepads)
  • Added HUD view menu options for changing cabs (useful for gamepads)

GUI

  • Improved controls configuration screen colours to show which element is active in order to make keyboard and gamepad navigation easier
  • Attempted to fix a possible crash in the main menu career options
  • Fixed train interior views to remember the last position and viewing direction in some cases
  • Added interior view tilt angle setting (defaults to 15 degrees)

Train editor

  • Fixed train editor to not spawn new vehicles on top of old ones
  • Fixed the train stopping option to stop some vehicles properly
  • Fixed train editor to play sounds
  • Fixed a possible audio related crash in the train editor
  • Fixed a possible crash when exiting the train editor

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed rescue scenarios to work for Meltham Model Railway trams
  • Fixed various pathfinding failures
  • Fixed a problem causing some objects (like speed limit signs) to be missing or look wrong when doing multiple runs without restarting the game
  • Changed vehicle database to match vehicles also by name in addition to the vehicle GUID. This should help preventing modded timetables from breaking down if the GUID of a train mod changes on the Workshop
  • Reduced chance of heavy fog and overcast sky
