MALPRAXIS™ · build 22220760 · published
Thank you for the continued reports and feedback. This update continues our work addressing edge cases, restoring systems and improving interaction feedback across operations.
Fixed an issue where the Entity could be lasered during the final mission.
In this scenario the intended sequence of events would not occur, preventing the final cutscene and credits from playing and leaving the save state in an invalid condition.
|*The entity is N0T TANGI̷̱͊̚̚BLE — C0RRUPTED SEGMENT DETECTED — DATA REDACTED *|
Patients can now be overdosed using Cortisium (sedatives) as well as Paraphine (painkillers).
Patient follow-up reports now function correctly for all operations where they are relevant.
Added an End Operation button to the System tab.
Ending an operation this way now:
Applies 0.65 malpractice points
Triggers the normal operation failure sequence
Can result in shift failure if malpractice thresholds are exceeded.
A new hidden achievement has been added.
Environmental surfaces now properly receive laser decals when the laser tool is used.
Lasering the operating table or operating room environment now correctly inflicts malpractice.
Laser visual effects are now applied using the updated decal system.
Added a cooldown to limit excessive laser VFX spawning.
Laser audio now defaults to a metal surface material, improving consistency when interacting with environmental objects.
Added audio feedback when selecting item slots and categories.
Operation tabs now play dedicated selection audio.
Added new scan audio feedback when scanning objects that do not unlock evidence or when re-scanning existing evidence.
Added new evidence unlock audio feedback.
Future updates will focus on resolving several issues related to input and tutorial prompts. Some players have reported cases where tutorial instructions remain on screen after the required action has been completed, or situations where the tutorial cannot continue because a prompt fails to clear.
We are currently addressing these issues to ensure prompts behave correctly and disappear as intended once actions are performed. Alongside these fixes, we are also reworking parts of the tutorial flow, structure, and prompt text to better introduce and explain the game’s existing mechanics.
As our content restoration efforts continue, the next step will be enabling the surgical laser in all operations. The laser is a specialist instrument and not every operation requires its use. You are free to employ it where you deem appropriate.
However, the SPIDER unit is expected to maintain operational discipline. Destroying evidence, damaging the operating theatre, or harming patients or staff without cause will result in malpractice penalties.
