1.43 → 1.45

  • Major performance improvements through Lumen, VSM, and internal variable optimizations, along with reduced memory usage.

  • Unreal Engine 5.6’s native upscaler is faster than DLSS. However, since DLSS denoising produces fewer artifacts and cleaner visuals, DLSS remains enabled by default.

  • [Sandbox Mode] Added Hit Lighting as an optional toggle for performance considerations. Screen Space Reflections re-enabled (with an enable button inside the Render Settings Actor).

  • [Sandbox Mode] Fixed an issue where large Rect Lights would shine through walls.

  • [Sandbox Mode] Added “No Shadows” option (necessary because glass materials now cast shadows by default).

  • [Sandbox Mode] Added ray-traced shadow option for certain lights.

  • [Sandbox Mode] Added a “Select Only” button after object search to allow selecting without moving the object.

  • [Sandbox Mode] Added a puddle actor.

  • [Sandbox Mode] Changed transparent material shading algorithm to legacy mode for performance reasons (refraction remains supported).

  • [Sandbox Mode] Fixed an issue where TextGen actors had black edges, improved resolution, and added support for metallic and emissive properties.

  • [Sandbox Mode] Light emission now affects global illumination and reflections by default. Added a Non-Reflective Emission option to revert to the old behavior. (Note: this may cause some areas to appear brighter than before. If areas look too bright or you want highlights to blow out in dark scenes, enable Non-Reflective Emission.)

  • Adjusted and updated lighting in official levels.
