Summary: A new optimization update is live with significantly lower RAM usage, a much smaller project size, improved crash stability, and further progress on smarter AI and the upcoming hint system.
🛠️ Small Update — Memory, Build & Stability Improvements
Hello everyone,
We have rolled out a small but impactful update focused on improving performance, memory usage, stability, download size, and the overall gameplay experience.
🧠 Reduced RAM Usage
We have reduced RAM usage by approximately 30–40%.
This is a major improvement for players on lower-spec systems and should help reduce memory-related issues during gameplay. We focused on the areas with the highest memory cost, including textures, asset loading, and runtime allocations.
🛠️ Crash Fixes & Stability
We have made significant progress in reducing crashes and memory leaks across the game.
- Reduced Crash Frequency: Multiple memory-related crash sources have been addressed.
- Improved Stability: General stability improvements should make sessions more reliable.
- Ongoing Monitoring: We are continuing to investigate and fix any rare issues that still appear.
📦 Optimized Project Size
The overall project size has been reduced by more than half.
- Faster Downloads: A smaller build means less time spent downloading updates.
- Lower Storage Use: The game now takes up less disk space.
- Cleaner Asset Setup: Unused assets and unnecessarily large files have been removed or optimized.
🧩 Optimization Breakdown
We used profiling tools to identify the biggest memory consumers and focused our work where it mattered most.
- Texture Optimization: Oversized textures were reduced and optimized where possible.
- Asset Cleanup: Unused and unnecessary assets were removed from the project.
- Runtime Improvements: Object pooling and cleaner allocation patterns were introduced where needed.
- Smarter Asset Loading: Assets are now loaded closer to when they are needed, helping reduce peak memory usage.
🎯 What’s Next?
- Smarter AI: We are actively improving enemy intelligence, reactions, and overall behaviour.
- Hint System Progress: The in-game hint system is still in development and will help guide players during more difficult moments.
- Further Optimization: We will continue refining performance, loading, stability, and memory usage as development moves forward.
🔍 Why This Matters
- Less RAM Usage: Helps reduce crashes and improve performance on mid-range and lower-spec PCs.
- Smaller Build Size: Means faster downloads and less storage space required.
- Improved Systems: Smarter AI and the upcoming hint system will make the experience more polished, immersive, and accessible.
